I'm still putting off getting a temporary (probably 12 years now!) filling replaced; delay is purely out of fear of dentists - and a bit of the fact that I didn't know enough French to confidently explain just how much of an issue it would be!!! Plus once it's done it's out of the way and off the 'nagging things in the back of your head' list. You can do it Nogs

With the help of the listen again function, I was able to record that little bit and send it to the missus who's in UK for a bitKungFooBob wrote: Mon Dec 29, 2025 12:16 pm Driving to York when at around 11:08 UK time, on Planet Rock Radio they read out a message from some bloke called Yorick about his new dog Ozzy![]()

Lazy day today
Met some friends at the little local airport café for lunch (which was far nicer that that description makes it sound
)
Submitted him indoors' tax return.
Flicked through my new cake book. I rarely bake, so thought I might start...

Re: What have you done today thread?
Started phase 1 of moving my home office (again…) which included a trip to Teesside to pick up a 3m length of dado trunking and other electrical bits to add multiple desk height sockets. This is rather than having to daisy-chain 4/6-gang paddles to supply circa 10 devices which I guess add up to no more than 10amps.
There is an issue with one of the capping pieces, it looks like a skirting section has been supplied rather than a lower dado section, so I’ll need to exchange that. I’m heading past twice on Tuesday, so it’ll wait until then. I’ll crack on with moving furniture and IT equipment around tomorrow/ weekend.
Tonight, I’m running in the inaugural HogmanHoway 5K around Newcastle city centre with both of my daughters from 7.30pm but the logistics are less than straightforward - who’d have daughters eh?
Once I’m home and showered, I’m planning on parking my arse on a sofa with the hound until he heads to bed at which point, I’ll do the same, although that’ll be interrupted by the inevitable fireworks at midnight.

I had coffee and yarned for a couple of hours with an old mate. I'm the world's worst at keeping in touch,no matter how many promises I make to myself.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Ate a double El Diablo.. which caused a visit to the growler as I hadn't pooped for three days (Ozempic side effect)
I commenced the performance & birthed what is without doubt the most spectacular turd of my life.
We're talking Olympic record here.
It was still exiting my exhaust when the other end was heading around the U bend.
The girth was also a bit alarming.
Rather proud of that & truly hope never ever to birth anything bigger.

Same here, I'm sure I've just put twice as many bin bags of crimbo shite in the loft as came down.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Speaking of my Wife, she has already started planning the house alterations for this year!
Just sold a lovely, solid table that we've had for 25ish years. A really heavy wooden table which has been put together properly by someone who knew carpentry, dovetail joints and suchlike. Fricking thing weighed a ton! Anyway, I'm betting it'll get replaced with something not even half as good quality, but looks nice!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Saw in the new year with some mates, watching our rich next-door-neighbours' expensive fireworks.
Woke up, made everybody breakfast. Waved off mates.
Walked the dog.
Was banned from de-Christmas-ing the house. Compromise agreed on for Sunday.
Popped to the parents and did a final coat of emulsion. Just the gloss left to finish now, but dad reckons it's too cold, so that'll wait a few weeks.
Now sat with a glass of red and planning to do very little until at least lunchtime tomorrow

Absolute pile of shite still here. Spent half day in bed and half lying on sofa like a big ball of snot
