Bread Recipes ?

Post by Yorick »

I bought the missus a great bread making mschine, but lately she's too busy to make bread regularly, so it's been passed to me.

I like wholemeal brown bread. Quite heavy and not against adding little extras. Fruit? Nuts?

Any good recipes?

I’ve not got a machine but I do struggle to get a good wholemeal ☹️
I’ve got a good granary type - haven’t tried but I think that would take the addition of nuts n stuff

Bit of spice and some dried fruit then, once it's proved, a little sugar water or honey brushed on the top for added sweetness.

500g of granary flour
35ml olive oil
8g salt
9g yeast
320 ml warm water

As you are using bread maker - bung it all in and press the buttons
If not - bring the dough together, kneed for 5 minutes, allow to prove for 1.5-2.5 hours. Re-kneed - but gently. Prove for 1 hour.
Shape or into a tin, bake for 35 mins at 200

Local Tesco used to sell them or something similar. Apart from size, nothing in the range disappointed. Dont know why they stopped selling them as they were good sellers. No matter as i cant eat them now anyway unless a Gluten Free one comes out.
