Re: Bottom brackets
I have an Enduro bearings Maxhit BB, it’s the stainless bearings rather than ceramic as they didn’t have any in the country when I ordered it. As the”Destroyer of Bearings” (c) LBS, it’s lasting well. I’ll probably open it up over Xmas and see what it’s like but it’s still running smoothly at present and they say they need less maintenance than a normal BB

Re: Bottom brackets
For the last 10+ years my mate has done about 70 miles a week
and hes using some modified bmx crankset thing which I did some machining on, that was 18 weeks ago so hes done
around 1260 miles on it now and its still perfect.
Sorry no idea what a BSA 68/73 is, I just help him out working on it

Re: Bottom brackets
I normally just use the sram dub ones, they last fine for me, though Ive got an uberbike one at the moment and that’s doing fine, though it’s only a few months old.
My hardtail has a basic Shimano one and that’s fine too…

Re: Bottom brackets
It turns out that i have a spare on the shelf which means that I've actually only fitted 2.
So the bog standard cheapo Shimano Mt 501 (iirc) are lasting some 6 months or so.

Re: Bottom brackets
Shimano don't tend to last particularly long, but they are cheap @ around £15 a pop to be fair if you shop around...
I have a very low mileage Hope HT2 68/73 threaded BB going spare (can't see me ever using it as I'm just about eBike exclusively these days, and the only unpowered MTB I do ride has a BB92 pressfit BB anyway... It's black and its yours for £50 posted if you wanted it...
The beauty of the Hopes is that they are fully serviceable, so when the high quality Enduro bearings do finally die, you can pop em out and press in new ones (MR2437 is the bearing size) along with some new seals, all for a fraction of the cost of replacing the BB... The bearings will outlast a Shimano Deore BB by many times over too.
