For the 5 weeks before I went to Portimao 2 weeks ago I was very strict
Walk a mile into town, 2 bottles fizzy water, 1 beer and home
Glass of wine before bed

Lost a stone

Had 5 nights in hotel before track event and had to be strict so didn't put the weight back on
1 beer tea time.
Home for food
Out for 3 more beers. Early night

Same on riding days.

First night home last night, gloves off

We finally watched the final episode of Hairy Bikers (wife was saddened to hear of Daves death) and they visited the distillery that makes this stuff and Dave loved this rum. So as a sort of condolence present, if there is such a thing , I got her a bottle.

When did this happen? Any fule no driving improves after 3 or 4 pints.

I had a unexpected breakthrough a couple weeks back. I bought a new game for my Xbox, its a zombie survival game, very involved. I've been playing it most days for several hours and it's been a complete distraction from alcohol AND snaking AND vaping weed.

For example, Thursday was a quiet day, I was finished by 11am and pondering if i could justify lunch yet, maybe I'll pop down to Lidl for snacks and booze. I decided to put my gas on for a quick go. At 2 am the following morning, I switched it off, had one hit on my vape and slept until 7am ! So Rather than arguing with myself abut whether to drink and or snack, I was too distracted by the game !?

It's 2 weeks since I've had a drink, I know I will drink when I go to the Alps next week. But having a beer with your mates is better than sitting home alone getting shitfaced.

I've really really wanted to sit and get shitfaced this weekend. Stuff going on and I do like a nice rum or a port!

BUT I've never been good at drinking alone and definitely not when I'm miserable - so I have a cupboard of spirits I like, a shed full of various alcohol with sloes in and I can't get the enthusiasm to have anything cos it would not be about enjoyment, it would be able oblivion.

So, I'm sitting here with a headache and I didn't have any alcohol last night to cause that (hurty muscles/arm cause the headaches)

I know it will be the same tonight, buckets of tea, no alcohol

For me, I enjoy a drink to enjoy it (does that make sense?) but mostly I like just having a couple of drinks with friends, never saw the point of drinking home alone regardless of how much oblivion beckons (mostly cos the next day will feel like shit!! And the evenings before work it isn't worth it because of the breathalyser we have the stops the buses starting if you're over the limit)

Sadly it's not that - I always drink a LOT of water. Its because I fcked up the shoulder muscle trying to put a chain on a bus wheel and despite a physio session I can feel everything is still unhappy in the neck/deltoid/brachial area - symptom is headaches (I have made more effort to drink a lot of water since I got home last night and today and no change, so not that I haven't tried )

I did just see the Kraken Coffee on a serious offer in the local SuperU, but I resisted!! Not in the mood to appreciate it - here's hoping they don't sell out before the end of the offer!!!!
