I’m scared stiff of newborns - toddlers are great though and I seem to be a magnet for them.

Today I dodged a bullet. Riding along about 60sih a traffic cone appeared from under the car in front. I had little time to react and fortunately missed it. Could have been nasty !!!!

You and me both, and I'm pretty sure that it is actually compulsory to sniff baby's heads , (well perhaps not every baby you see , but definitely when you are holding them :D) - I can never help myself , anyway 💕

Come Bandit racing, and a traffic cone won't even cause you to blink once you've done a round or two :D

Fitted a new socket in mum and dad's kitchen and moved their fridge to make use of said socket.

This is part one of Project 'create mum and dad a downstairs toilet', which involves:
*Moving the fridge to make room for the washing machine
*Moving the washing machine to make room for the toilet
*Levelling the floor
*Tiling the floor
*Sorting the walls (tiles, paint, skirting board etc)
*Building a door frame, and hanging a door
*Installing the toilet and washbasin
*Etc...

All of which would be far simpler if my mum wasn't a hoarder. It's taken two days before this to create space for the fridge, and will likely take another two to clear the utility (which is to become the downstairs toilet).

The cleared out stuff is finding a new home in my recently cleared shed (which is a sizable 10' x 20'). I 100% expect my mum to never look at it ever again, but it's a lot easier than persuading her to part with it. So. Many. Books. (Almost all reference books.) We could start a library.

Plan is to take it a bit at a time so as not to over do the mental load on my mum, and get it steadily done over the next few weeks. Expect sporadic updates 😆

Had a "free replay" Fantasy Five* lottery ticket, redeemed it yesterday, free ticket won $13 last night, cashed that in today, bought another $1 ticket, won $15 tonight.

Apart from that, bugger all, it's been pissing down for days.

* it plays every day.

Fitted new tyres and tubes to a friend's toddler buggy. The old tyres were the originals from 17 years ago and falling to bits.

Watched the snow coming down. It's settling on the shed, greenhouse etc.

Same. I don't feel so self-conscious about sitting at my desk with a thick fleece on and a blanket over my legs like a care home pensioner.

Batched up and frozen a game ragu I made on Sunday after getting hold of a pheasant and some venison, bulked out with a bit of beef. Bloody lovely, even if I do say so myself. :D

My friendly work colleague asked me yesterday if I had tried "KAKI"

Was a little worried what he was asking but apparently its a fruit !!

So today he gave me some Kaki Fruit

Image

Apparently they are Persimmon fruits - who knew!!

You have to let them get really ripe apparently (well, very soft, same thing!) - one was ready and yes, they are actually quite nice (in a yoghurt!!)

So, I learnt a new thing cos I've never heard of them before :) :) :)
