Seems to me that the further away people are from "Youngsters" the more they have a problem with them.
I often get apprentices put with me, not mine but just working alongside to train em up a bit. Thing is,in my opinion they're as good if not better than the yoof of my generation.
On the piss faaar and away less so working harder at work. Less blatent racism/sexism to the odd female who feels like working on sites (that seems to come almost exclusively from late middle aged white fucking feckless people trying to deflect from just how lazy they are) and in general they've not just landed on sites because they failed at school.
Hell, many of these kids actually did OK at school and made a proper decision to take a trade, instead of the old way of getting sidelined into woodwork at school from all the academic course teachers then not having much choice.
Listen to old geezers talking about all the stuff they got upto when they were young then try to tell me modern kids are worse.
I've worked on site with at least two murderers who went to prison for it, multiple fairly high up drugrunners, an old bloke who was in a Glasgow razor gang, worked for more corrupt quantity surveyors and gaffers than I care to mention.

I get to hear a lot of blatent twatty comments aimed at female workers and other races mostly because of the way I look. I'm a twat magnet and these days not as much in the good way.
Shaved head since I was twenty years old and according to my daughter I "Look like a thug" so they seem to see me as being like minded so sidle up alongside me and start spouting their repellant bile about women on site, blacks taking over the country, and the amount of Mosques in town. For the record, I think theres only one Mosque in town and more churches than I can remember, at least ten within a mile circle.

I am not a kindred spirit to them and nor is my middle name Diplomacy.

This thread seems to have started off as a weird uncle you avoid at family gatherings thread and then gone a bit further down the rabbit hole from there.
Theres also a bit of people who complain about others being offended too easy but then the same people are being offended on others behalf anyway. Which is mildly amusing for me.

They don’t sound like very successful fairly high up drugrunners.

Personally I don't really mind if you want to be He but you wanna wear a dress and lipgloss. The only thing that gets me, and I think this is what annoys others. It's when these people get upset or angry or aggressive act when people get their preferred pronoun wrong. That's the issue, bandwagon w@nkers looking for things to be angry about.
I agree. If a man want to pretend he's a woman I'll play along and call him Madam or Miss but I'm not going to believe his nonsense.
Mate, that's not what I meant.

What I'm saying is, you can have any pronoun you want, but you don't get to get upset if people get it 'wrong'.

If you want to wear a dress, don't be surprised if people call you her. If you have a dress and a beard, and people have no clue what to call you, don't get angry if they haven't worked out what you want to be....

I've been misgendered a lot in my life. Simply due to my name. And while as an insecure early teenager, it wasn't fun. But as an adult, my "give a fuck ometer" is hovering around zero. I don't even always bother to correct people nowadays!

Ha, they were from the days when customs actually did their job instead of post Brexit when they just wave anything through due to being chronically understaffed.
Consequently they've spent some time in prison.
