Not a bike trip per se, but the bike will be with us
There for a month from weds, picture of itinerary so far.
Any recommendations gladly received.
Arriving Cork btw!

I don't think there's many bad roads if you stay away from the motorway. Even the ones with grass down the middle were enjoyable. I remember the Healy Pass being quite fun, and it's slap in the middle of the bit labelled ROB on your map.

I'd head south for the Wicklow mountains and Sally gap, but if your first stop is Cork it'll take a while. If you've got a month I'd of made Cork 2nd night.

We'd originally planned Rosslare, but the booking website doesn't actually have access to the ferry company's manifest, and cancelled us the next day (still waiting for the refund btw), so had to settle for Cork.

I was going to suggest Molls Gap, but you really really don't want to go that way in a motorhome.

Iirc, I took a 10m coach through there a few years ago. Had some crazy ex garda DI as a tour guide.

The place between Tulamore and Galway on your map is Roscommon, it's as boring as it gets with very little of interest. It's where my family is from.

Galway is worth a visit, there's usually something going on. That coastline is scenic, Cliffs of Moher south of Galway, Achill Island to the north.

Well we're here!
Tried to see cork, but all we got were several tours of the one way system trying to find somewhere to park the van. After an hour of ring a ring a roses, we cut our losses and went to Midleton. Reminded me of Monmouth.......except.of course Monmouth doesn't have a distillery! €31 was a fair bit to spend on a couple of glasses of whiskey, but I did learn a few things and got my steps up for the day.
Found my birthday/Xmas pressie as well

Now on the coast road heading west. Quite surprised by how 'touristy' it still is even in October.

Kenmare is a lovely small town. Plenty of nice bars with fiddle music. Want an evening there.

Might spend wedding anniversary there on sat!

Currently sat on Roscarberry Pier for the night. Spent the night in worse places.
Been here 2 days.....not a drop of the damp stuff...yet!

Spent the night in Eires largest fishing port, went to get some fush n chaps, shop was out of fish! I did mention that there's a bloody ocean full just over there, she offered me a rod and told me she'd cook it on my return!
Asked a local bus driver if he'd drive around the ring (of beara) in his minibus. Now discovered the legendary Irish sense of humour. Beautiful, but a wee bit (as in pull over and getouttamafeckinway) tight in places.

Morning after the anniversary the night before in Kenmare
Fantastic meal in Davitts restaurant, mooched through the town, having a 1/2 in every bar, listening to the music.
Slumbered down for the night, only to be disturbed by nearly every u30 banging on the van as they went past..... until about 3am.
Not full of the joys of Ireland today.
