Friday thread, the middle Sept wet one.

Post by weeksy »

Well it's been wet... but the ground is still soaking up most of it, so the trails are still not terrible to ride.

Fri. Bike prep, van prep, stuff prep. Chill and a curry/beer with Mrs Weeksy.
Sat. Off to Llangollen racing which means a 5am start for me and the boy. He'll sleep mostly. Practice from 9.30-4.30, beers, tent !!! Brrrrrrr
Sun. Race day and see if we have some answers to some issues. Finger crossed.

Tomorrow I shall be building my new cold frame in between taking dogs for their much needed hair cut and dodging the rain.

Sunday is an early drive to Northampton to pick up a load of returns from John Lewis. If my new rear tyre turns up on Saturday that might get fitted to the Himalayan.

Today will be sorting barcodes for some lines we've managed to get onto the Nordstrom and Maceys online marketplaces.

Friends 50th birthday party tonight

Sat - dropping the youngest off to start uni in Nottingham, expecting tears and drama so will no doubt require medicating with wine on our return

Sun - go see my mum I guess, see what list of jobs she has for me!

Following the success of my impromptu 1-day weaving course, I'm booked on a 2-day weaving course (8 shaft loom).

It's a relaxing as meditation. Ommmm.

Anyone need any yogurt weaving?

Me, Mrs Gremlin and the FiL dropped Gremlinette off when she started. I gave both of them a pep talk about keeping a cheerful tone, not crying, etc., as we didn't want to upset her when leaving.

Guess who blubbed first when it was time to leave? :D

Anyhow - nowt tonight.

House chores Saturday after an early gym session. Friends round for a low-key dinner.

Sun - may pop down to see Ol' Ma Gremlin.

Putting the first half of the decking down today. Not foreseeing any problems and have my 82 year old step f-i-l helping me. He'll turn up in full ppe including steel toe capped boots no doubt! :D

Rest of the weekend is under a bit of a cloud as my wife's baby, sorry, French Bulldog isn't too well, so we are unlikely to be going anywhere until she recovers. Ho hum..

Have a better one everybody!

Probably finishing about 7:30 later and coming home via the supermarket to get some blue cheese !! Then home to drink port and drink cheese !!

Saturday - probably a huge lie in !!! If the sun wakes me up I'll probably take the duvet and go outside and sit on the terrace and try go back to sleep
more 'stuff' to do, organising and sorting things. A couple of the boxes I picked up yesterday I've not looked in for years and years - lots of family memories; so I think I'll be spending some time going through those more than anything actually productive !

Sunday - More of the same !!

At some point over the weekend a friend is coming down with a big armchair for me, so I do have to make some space for that :bblonde: And she's bringing some other stuff too, so need to do some organising to make space to put some of the other stuff in place and then I have more places to store stuff !!  :bblonde: :bblonde:

For all that I rarely drink at home alone, this weekend feels like a weekend for rum - and if it's sunny on Sunday, maybe some genepi out on the patio in the sun :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

After hectic 11 days away at Portimao, gonna have quiet weekend.
Few jobs on the GSXR.
2 jobs on the Gasgas. Might take it out for a spin.
All alone at home. Drinking partner from UK arrives Wednesday :)

Gonna be even hotter today, so any plans might get changed to drinking :D

It's already 37c

Today, clean the house, car etc after a fake Maccy’s breakfast.
Saturday, off to the F’s for wine, whingeing and horney sex as it’s September again.
Sunday, nowt planned so a trip out mostly looking at cars hopefully.
Monday, head home, stop off to look at a BMW I like the look of if they will give me enough for mine.
Have fun, whatever you have planned.

Been out for lunch with mates today, doggo gets picked up in an hour or so for the weekend

Tomorrow, out in York which may not be a good idea as the forecast is for rain, it will be busy (busier than normal) due to the food festival and it’s the women’s rugby semi final.

Sunday, recovery and seeing what progress if any can be made with the decorating project before the hound gets back.

Next week is a busy one, day and a half in Chester for some training (and suit shopping), annual awards dinner in Newcastle where I’m now presenting an award at :wtf: as my boss is now unable to attend.

Is it Friday? I have lost track :P

Staying in a shitty hotel in Austria tonight. I have been looking at a landscape straight out of a Disney film all day and then end up in a dive. It was cheap.

Got a nice hotel booked tomorrow south west of Stuttgart and then thinking of making a beeline home to the Calais - Newhaven ferry.

Starting to miss friends and family :D

Nice!

Today - WFH and sorted start date for new job (5th Jan, as otherwise it'll be Christmas, and that would be weird as). Mowed lawn as it's supposed to piss it down over the weekend.

Tomorrow - neighbours over for dinner, so some prep and tidying before. Maybe some DIY - fillering the landing ceiling.

Sunday - swimming - it's getting colder now though, the water was 14.9° last weekend, so dropping quite sharply 🥶 Maybe some DIY once I defrost. That or just rot for a bit 💃

Arrived on Skye yesterday, so today will be walking dogs in new places and a trip to the shops for fud and wood for the stove. Then more exploration and chilling out.
