A device for extracting small children from horse's hooves?
Failing that, something to do with tyre removal/fitting?

Brake tool of some description. A very old one. Snap-on haven't used that particular logo for decades.
If you like, you can take that back to Snap-on for a brand nw replacement, as that one has chrome peel !!

What an ingenious tool. Unfortunately I don't think I have a need for one. Wouldn't stop me buying one, of course...

I think it's for fitting stand springs. I made a spring puller out of a coat hanger and a bit of dowel.....

The hook on a Swiss Army knife is good for that.
Think its supposed to be for carrying parcels wrapped in string.
To be fair, I also made one out of a coathanger.

I got a set similar to these yonks ago, about 3 quid from Aldi, never failed me yet
What scale are they? I can't tell if they're 3 feet long, or 3 cm.
I have some dentist picks that are very similar - but not much use for brake springs!
