Friday thread. First w/e of Sept.
It's early Sept and we're not racing this weekend.
So Fri is an oil service on the Transit and either a bit of a pedal or a chill day. Evening of pizza and cider
Sat is watching the DH World Championships and pedal
Sun is likely resting and watching the DH World Champs

Re: Friday thread. First w/e of Sept.
I will be trading in my XMax 300 and picking up my new X-ADV though so I suppose that is bike related and I'm quite looking forward to it. Even though the last couple of new bikes have been bought by me later in the year and I miss out on the really good weather.
May look at a new lid while I'm in the bike shop.
We have the decorators in our new house so will have people bothering me all weekend
Apart from that, a bit of a relax I think after completing my first week in my new job.

They're still a really cool thing IMO. I have bugger all use for one, but they're cool as heck.Nordboy wrote: Fri Sep 05, 2025 6:52 am I will be trading in my XMax 300 and picking up my new X-ADV

Re: Friday thread. First w/e of Sept.
Out to the Crabshack in Worthing tonight for an anniversary dinner with Mrs Moofo.
Coastwatching this morning, and as it has finally stopped raining , it will be a ride there.
At some stage i need to go down the the Hove pump track to learn how to pop off rises in the track. But that may best be left til next week and kid free.
Taking the Diavel to Protwins to sort out the rear brake ( one of the calliper mounting bolts rounded off when trying to remove it)
Home alone on Saturday evening, so the dog and i will be watching something grim on TV.
Hopefully getting out on the MTB or Motorbike Sunday.

Re: Friday thread. First w/e of Sept.
Quiet week this week - hopefully.
Whenever I look at the diary and say that, something always seems to happen - usually end up clearing gutters/gullys or some other unplanned home maintenance job. Hopefully the the missus won't get bitten by a horsefly again and end up in a scramble to the GPs for antibiotics after ending up with one arm like Popeye.
Hoping for snoring boring.

Friday, dog walk and collect motorcycle from Alfs after its service. No MTB as I’m feeling very flat at the moment. Too much work and crap sleep.
Saturday, dog walk, pick up EMTB from its service (another fat bill) and then rest before 12hr night.
Sunday, resting before another busy week at work.

Doing the work of four men today, as I have two blokes on holiday and one still sick.
Tom: Get up, go gym, rush back then out for a PFL with friends up in that Smoke as it's my birthday on Sunday (and Mrs. G.'s next Thursday)
Sun: No idea. Might get taken out for a bit of lunch for my birthday. Who knows?

Re: Friday thread. First w/e of Sept.
Taking Step f-i-l for his gastroscopy tomorrow. He's already had a ct scan, mri, pet scan and a colonoscopy. Results next week. So sort of supporting him over the weekend as he's understandably a bag of nerves, as are we.
Got to go to the woodyard and order some decking and 4x4s and that's about it.

Today, WFH, then head to daughter’s to prevent her relationship ending / help them build a plastic shed / storage item they’ve attempted to build / have argued over  :ffs:
Tomorrow, more DIY, this weekend is removing the last of the wallpaper, patching up ready for reinstalling skirting boards and replacement picture rails, sanding, undercoating and hopefully glossing those, mist coats on walls ready to fill / sand ready for topcoat.
Sunday, daughter, her fiancé and other daughter’s boyfriend are taking part in the Great North Run, so depend on their POV, I may head down to watch for a while and try to spot them among 60,000 other runners or I may simply continue with DIY.
If anyone is feeling generous, my daughter’s charity choice can be supported here: https://ajbellgreatnorthrun2025.enthuse ... BmIUkTFjug

Depends on the weather.
If it's nice like today, then there'll be bike time.
If it's wet,I have Motogp,WSBK and BSB to watch.

Currently on Day 5 of a 6 day break. Today is Sidmouth, and it really is God's waiting room. Hotel is good but the cliental are old, old fashioned, and generally up themselves. Jacket and tie prefered for dinner, I did the jacket last night ( but no tie) so tonight may be tie sans jacket.

Today: work then a small food shop then probably ignore the state of the house (did manage to paint a windowsill and internal cupboard door on my lunchbreak though
and curl up with Netflix for the evening in my now painted living room (dark blue walls with orange velvet sofas - much better than the magnolia covered in about 10 layers of black dust that was originally there)
Tomorrow: attempt to get to the gym early, then hopefully doing the second coat of paint on the decking - its not been dry to get that 2nd coat on. then out to my mam's for the rest of the weekend as my middle brother is visiting for the weekend, and the other two brothers will appear at some point. Some good old family time, and not thinking about work.
Sunday - continuation of the family weekend, drive back home mid afternoon so i can do some DIY jobs before getting set up for work on Monday

Re: Friday thread. First w/e of Sept.
After a week of failing Himalayan leccy bits - i'll update the thread at some point with the trials and tribulations - I might have solved the issues and it's looking dry tomorrow so should get out for at least a test ride
Sunday is looking to be a tad damp so I'll probably knock up something tasty for tea.
Weekend should be gardening free for the first time in a while, which my back and hips will thank me for.
