I'm a

Not convinced about the bare metal 'prototype' look - the 2 halves of the bike look unrelated but apart from that...
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

The new top faring of the custom is less fussy, but that's off set by the horrible metal made in a shed tail piece, the original looks much better imo. The custom looks totally mismatched, it's 2025 at the front and 1985 at the back

I'd still take the factory version. If it weren't so likely to fail mechanically.

That's a bit harsh, 1985 bikes look better than that

That was deliberate according to the blurb...

Moving to the rear end of the bike, Shiro fabricated a new tailpiece out of aluminum, while maintaining the original ergonomics. “The design is my interpretation of a fusion between 1980s sportbikes and modern MotoGP bikes,” he explains. “The finish was left as bare aluminum, giving it a prototype look.”

It wouldn't look half as jarring if it had been painted in the same colours as the rest of the bike.

Yeah,a good paintjob would make a big difference. Hard to see past things like that.

Putting two things next to each other is not the same as fusion.

If it's supposed to be a track bike, why is there a reflector on the front mudguard when the original didn't have it?

Looks like a Hagon ran into the back of it.
