I've got a lot of sympathy for people not wanting cars or bikes speeding through where they live.

Bit of rumbling on our road's Whatsapp group, on whether we should ask for a 20 limit.

Filly wouldn't let me post the question: "Do you choose to travel at 20 where other people live?"

Why not? It seems a reasonable question, especially as my ill informed opinion is that those most likely to want cameras are also those most likely to get caught and then whine about it

Probably the same reason as she wouldn't let me comment on the 'mobile phone mast' NIMBY complaints*

I wanted to ask how many of those commenting were using their phones?

Yeah as much as it can be a bit annoying having mental loud 125's coming through the village now and again, when I saw a couple of kids on 125s couple it with a nice set of wheelies I couldn't help but smile. Yeah time and place and all that, but I want more young people on bikes and young people do dumb stuff...pretty much like we did.

Me four, some great stupid rides home from the GFs or work when I was doing A levels/degree. Plus some fairly naughty rides from nights at the Ace later on in the early 90s.

I genuinely sold my Blade when I was 24 cos I thought if I didn't I'd get a ban or die at somepoint. How either of those things didn't happen in the 2.5 yrs I owned it I don't know, certainly not through lack of trying I rode like an absolute arsehat for the whole time I had it, stuff like 5 mornings in a row doing over 130mph between the speed cameras at the Iron Bridge and Staples Corner on the North Circ in summer rush hour. Or 150mph + multiple times on a Sunday ride out. I figured at those speeds I wouldn't make a hospital and if the police caught me it was going to be very very bad.

Got a 640 Duke II and rode that like a twat but all under 80mph instead

As a radger, speeding through towns is part of my raison d'etre. Ideally in a small, loud car. That's what people want. Middle aged radgers in small cars.

I was on my bike the other day, when a white bmw overtook myself and about 5 cars on a blind left hander about 60/70 mph, anything coming the other way, would of been carnage.

I'm all for Dashcam footage of this sort of thing being sent in to plod (apparently cash rewards are available) but grassing to the police for going a bit quick in some limits is a bit cunty. Ye, I hear the " what if it was your village " but you can very safely break speed limits a bit, almost by mistake, just riding/ driving sensibly, probably do it every time I'm out, especially the Welsh 20s.

I received a NIP for "Driving Without Due Care" on the M11 (Junc 8 to junc 7). No cameras on that section, can only presume someone submitted dash cam footage of me riding down the (always empty) inside lane faster than them.

To ride without due care down that section of motorway, through the rush hours is stupid. I always aware of what other road users were doing.
