I wonder how much this'll set me back?![]()

Re: Shiny new bike day
Well, big boy service is put off for another year, Dealership said that they do the big service on mileage and it's about 3K short of that, so deferred to next year. Irritatingly, due to lack of use I think the tyres aren't sealing too well and are leaking off so I'll get them to investigate. AR noise maker removed and decorated Akra fitted for MOT, hopefully their tester is as deaf as the place I normally take to for MOT's locally.
I spoke to a neighbour with a 1000SX, it's been off the road for nearly 4 months, he's only just got it back of the gearbox shit itself. Fortunately done under warranty, otherwise it was a 4K bill!!!! The dealership suspect the previous owner may have been using the quick shifter below 6K.
I tend not to use the QS unless I'm riding briskly (fortunately).

From what little I know, the gearbox in the ZH2 is a tank, the Z1000 engine variants are well known to give bother if you're unlucky. In theory a stock quickshifter ought to give a gearbox an easier time.

Re: Shiny new bike day
I had cause to be in my local Kawasaki dealer today and was told sales of the ZH2 are in crisis for insurance reasons. I was given the example of one chap in his 50s who had to back out of a sale, not because the insurance was too expensive, rather they wouldn't even give him a quote. Are you finding anything similar on the mainland?

Re: Shiny new bike day
Well insurance renewal is soon so we'll find out. As is big boy service, the service desk manager was like "this will be expensive". Valves, supercharger oil filter mesh and plugs. Looks like they've stretched the fuel pump replacement out. It also needs new boots as '8K' on Pilot Road 6's and they've just started squaring off.

Insewerants renewal was £500 but shopping on tinternet is around £300 (including the lot I’m with at the moment) so I’ll be ringing them up today!
Oh and I put my glasses on and it’s 6K on the Pilots.

Re: Shiny new bike day
Collection from big boy service today, valves checked, all good (obvs don’t ride it hard enough as my last kwacker, the 9R needed a fair few doing at its first valve service, but then it had around 70hp less and I was a lot younger). New C&S, new PR6’s, MOT and a few other bits……£2000.

Re: Shiny new bike day
I was going to say £2000!!!
*thud*
Then I remembered a recent, similar car bill and they did less than that^^^^. The hourly rate+VAT is getting up there with lawyers!

Re: Shiny new bike day
Kawasaki seem to have deferred that, I’m guessing originally it was factored in for conservative reasons and maybe feedback from the dealerships/users is that they are more robust than they thought?
