He'll be up in doggy heaven nicking all the food.
Vet came to the house and he went peacefully out on the patio.
He was 14 and we had him 13 years

We'll miss you mate.
He’s going to leave a big hole. Really sorry to hear this. Their lives are too short. :(

For some reason best known to him, my dog decided to jump out of master bedroom window on Monday. Someones pick him up in the town - and we thought it was a hoax.
The dropp is about 16 feet - window had blown open, plantation shutter half way across , so god know wht he thought it was a good idea. This is a dog that wont even jump in the back of the car.

He was really spooked by something prior this - and I just though he had slunk off to bed or a safe place. Apparently base jumping was the order of the day.

Razzed chin, and over the past day or two, some bits are obviously a bit painful. Vet checked him over - nothing appears broken , no obvious internal damage.

But now trying to assess what got into him ... hope it's not dementia

On the run down from that very upper lift to the lower one that takes you up further, my brand new POC googles fell off my helmet (on the bars) and I ran over them, shagging the len!

And it was just round the corner, about 200 m up the hill on the stoney track that I fractured by scaphoid 2 years ago.

That photo seems to sum up my mountain biking career !!

Busy couple of weeks with work. When i got home today i decided to take the bike out for an hour, just round the local area. Rode it like i stole it. I apologise to no one for my hooligan antics, anyone diving out the way on the A1 anyone picking up there kids from the kerb edge. The cyclist with head phones who shit himself when i passed, the tractor driver who thought i would not make that gap. The adrenalin was flowing and this evening i was a riding god and loved it.

This time next week i will be greetin due to all the tickets on my door mat

Might have answered your own question there? My dogs sometimes get spooked by slamming doors in the house...

Trivia Night at the local boozer last night. 25 teams. Limit of 6 people per team. My team was just me & my former B-i-L. We came 15th.
Working on getting a full team of 6 together.
Last night we used the name Stan's Last Custard

One of the other teams was "Four In The Stink"....

And a burger
Epic views, and no burger is complete without a brioche bun.

Really sorry to hear this. I held my pup while we said goodbye just over a year ago so I know how it hurts but it was peaceful and all good things come to an end. Remember the good times.

New windows installed in half the house today. Two guys showed up about 8.30 this morning, tore out 9 windows, installed 9 new ones & were done around 2pm.

That's fighting talk!

Nowt wrong with 'proper' brioche but burger buns are usually a pale imitation - although you'd hope the French could get it right - since they invented brioche.
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Had an unexpectedly easy drive to Barnstaple in Devon to meet up with my wife’s best mate. Off out to dinner in Appledore with them later. I’m now off for second walking of the dogs on the Tarka Trail. 👍

Looooong hoooooot day in the bus. My colleague had a bit of a nightmare with a customer while I was on a break and then another customer laid into him because he was late due to previous one - FFS people are shitty fuckwits sometimes !!

Home a smedge earlier than I thought I'd be so dropped some stuff at the garage, picked up some stuff I forgot I'd bought from my freezer in another garage and home

As I walked in I was immediately reminded that I had stripped the bed this morning - you know, day off tomorrow so it's basically my day off  Soooo, turned the oven on before I remade the bed!

I've now had pizza and a BIG glass of rum and a random rhubarb and raspberry fizzy thing - heading to the shower, then wait for hair to dry before going to bed!! Lie in in the morning then head ot mates cafe for brunch and possible Irish (but rum) coffee !!!!

Damn it's hot here (well, not so much up here, but in the valley for sure !!!!)
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Up at sparrow fart & got struck in changing the rear shocks on the Explorer ST. First one was a minor PITA, second one was cake after the learning experience of the first.
Cleaned the wheels while they were off, got it all done & dusted & started cleaning up...

Then I stepped backwards onto the hose trigger which works like fire hoses, no spring shut off... Jet of water shot upwards & soaked the front of my Tshirt.. & then gave me the bidet treatment. Came back in the house & put dry shirt/jeans on, then carried on with the pottering.

Woke up just before 1.30am unable to breathe from *something* happening in my throat. Whatever the fuck it was was enough to cause roomie to call for an ambulance, but I was finally able to breathe & talk. She told the dispatcher to cancel the ambulance, but a couple of minutes later we had a fire truck & paramedics show up anyway. :!:
Still not 100% & don't think I'm about to croak. No idea WTF set it off, maybe inhaled a feather or something. :wtf: Got wierd burps going on now, probably from the water I just drank.

& you buggers can cancel any plans you had for my bikes or tools etc.

It was like a flap had closed my windpipe. Breathing damn near completely cut off for a couple minutes, really fucking scary. Was up until about 3.30, then managed to almost 2 hours sleep.
