Re: What have you done today thread?
Been back in my friend's garage. Sorting stuff, getting things ready to move the Monster back into the van. Managed to sort out three big bags of stuff to throw away
Picking up a couple of friends in an hour who will help me get the bike in the van. Then I need to sort out putting other stuff in there (just to get it out of the garage!)
Got some friends from the valley coming up later this week to go through the bags of clothes and see if they want anything. The rest will go back to the UK for family/charity shops!! Will try to sort some stuff for the charity shops here, but I've never found the one closest to me and I don't think they would want half the stuff I've got!! LOL
Feels good to finally get rid of some of this stuff!! LOL (NOT the Monster TC!! LOL)

Took my bike to the dealers yesterday and now I feel enlightened. The rumble of death that bothers me is the clutch basket. The tapping that I thought was the cam chain is actually the shims. The rattling spanners sound that's happened twice is the cam chain tensioner. It's booked in for its 24k service next month and will all be sorted then. They couldn't let me joy ride a Trident because no one has any yet I knew that.

All that at just 24k ? Shims usually wear tight rather than loose ,so they become quieter rather than rattly unlike ye olde tappets.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:52 am Took my bike to the dealers yesterday and now I feel enlightened. I'm in their 'bubble'!!! - Well, they are the only people up here that I meet with and chat, so I think that's the case Difficult to do proper social distancing in a transit without chucking them in the back, and that seemed rude!! LOL

Ok. Yes 24k. Not sure what the noise is then. It's nothing scary (slight ticking in time with the engine). I am a little anxious as the warranty runs out on 8th Feb. The "Head Technician" said he had made a note and that Triumph are good about warranty claims if I need to make one.Skub wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 1:29 pmAll that at just 24k ? Say what you like, but it ain't a Garibaldi, is it? The Garibaldi is the king of biscuits.
(The biscuit is actually named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, the man who united Italy. There's some trivia you neither wanted nor asked for)

There's one packet fewer of the Gingerbread ones. At least in biscuit form. They're very good.

Really can't understand why someone should be commemorated by a dead fly biscuit.

Re: What have you done today thread?
If they'd been a major player in the biscuit industry, I could understand it, but I also fail to see the connection...
"I see Garibaldi has unified Italy. We should honour him in some way"
"Hmmm. Name a town after him? Big statue maybe?"
"I was think more along the lines of a dry snack...a biscuit perhaps."
"Good shout. We'll save a fortune and it's quite a catchy name. 'A packet of Giuseppis, please'"

Installed a brake light on my Supermoto (hoping MOT man will feel that just the back brake having a light will suffice!)
Made/installed axle sliders on my Supermoto (skateboard wheels and threaded bar!)
