Danese sold for 1€?

Post by Supermofo »

Can't see anything in the main bike press but a mate with contacts in the trade said Danese have been sold to creditors for 1 euro. Few articles online about it but nothing from the mainstream guys as I said.

Which is the amount the government should pay for the water companies.
Theyre bust, a bust company is worth fuckall therefor everytime someone comes on the telly saying how much theyd1cost just bear in mind theyre bust.

Having said all that, still got to do a deal with the creditors, which will cost more than a quid.

Kind of a shame about Dianese, hell I remember having a Kenny Roberts T shirt when I was a kid, done to look like his leathers with even the stitching printed on it.
Had a large Dianese printed patch on it.
That will have been about 1980 or so.
Wish I still had it now, not to wear as it wouldn't fit but to hang on the wall to show the people around me who wouldnt give a shite that I'm a cool ass mofo and always have been. Ahem.

Wow... didn't see that story!

Founded in 1972, Lino Dainese got out in 2014.

Carlyle, the investment company that have owned it for the last few years apparently own Hertz, Dunkin Doughnuts and Kinder. They paid €285 million to buy-out the previous owners of Dainese in 2022.

Doing a bit of reading, Dainese was losing money hand over fist, and back in May was attempting to renegotiate its debt with creditors which had reached around €300 million after the company reported a €120 million loss last year, according to its annual financial report - almost three times bigger than losses in 2023. So Carlyle have taken a significant hit offloading the debt-ridden Dainese.
