My dog being a twat, she regularly gets trapped in the ante room betwixt Chez Gremlin and the garage, due the door into the hallway self-closing the wrong way for her to push. So this weekend, when it happened again, I cut a section of blue nylon rope, tied some knots in it and attached it to the door handle. Over the weekend I've almost got her opening that door on her own by pulling the rope and coming through the door before it closes.

We were given an 'enrichment toy' for the dog.

Four boxes on a base. Each box opens a different way: flip lid, lift with two types of handle, and a drawer. Put treats in.

Three goes, he'd got it.

Subsequently opened a drawer in a friend's kitchen, where she kept dog treats.

And pulled out a drawer from our coffee table, then chewed a corner off.

Walked the dog on the park last night and at one park bench table combo theres a couple of lads having some snacks, as I walked past I thought to myself I bet Ill1be picking the wrappers and pop bottles up in the morning*.
Fast forward to this morning and sure enough there's wrappers and pop bottles strewn about.
Picked em up and under the seat where one of the lads was there's a £20 note.
So to my eyes, if they'd bothered to pick their crap up they would have noticed they dropped twenty quid.
The bin was about 50 metres away and in the direction I was going anyway.



* I try to pick up a couple of items and fire em in the bin everytime I'm on the park.

Errmmm , can you not just put in a kinda cat flap sorta thingy ??

Hmmmm...What's easier and cheaper? Cutting a Border Collie-sized hole in an internal door and installing a probably non-existent 'dog-flap' and hoping the twat-hound doesn't keep going in there to rummage in the recycling boxes, or simply tying a length of rope that i found in the garage to the door handle that is easily removable if/when we move?

Plus, where's the challenge of teaching the Hound of the Stupidville a new and exciting trick?

There's dog flaps, we have one into the backyard from the kitchen.
Just big enough for Abe who was (we think) a Border Collie/Newfoundland cross and our 23" to the shoulder and 26 kilo Bull Lurcher can lowp through it at speed.
Technically I reckon a small burgler could also get far enough through they could open the door but I doubt that'll happen.

If the collie does the rope thing its still a win though.

About 3 .months ago we changed fibre and mobiles supplier from Movistar to Lobster.

Lobster ported the 2 mobile numbers to their system and we assumed they'd cancel the whole Movistar thing.

But we just noticed they're still taking money from our account.
I dug deep and they were still billing us

Had a deep think and we're sure that we actually cancelled it ourselves.
They denied it

We showed proof of the router being returned to their office on date we said we cancelled in their office.

Oooh. They now agreed with us

Yesterday took Elvis to vets as not eating.
3 injections and consultation

Back today for follow up.
Shave tummy and ultrasound.
3 more injections and tablets to take home

Total cost, 55€

Quite often in an evening he'll pop out and inspect his garden
Always has a scratch under the banana tree. Then to the gate to see if the cats there have dropped any food.
In between sniff and wee everywhere.

I often just sit and watch him

Just tonight was double the time. But he looked content.
Want to make his last few days good for him.

Sat in the pub tonight & end up in a conversation with some bloke who works of *black stuff* at a local air base... At one point he laments being involved in a project where an engineer/designer wallah had spec'd some aircraft hardware that was proving impossible to find... quotes MS/AN part #'s

Him: Never heard of them?
Me: Google them..
Him: ok, found the company
Me: Punch in the the part #
Him: Holy crap they have them, I can get them here by Wednesday
