How did you get them to accept that? It’s my impression that they have to have been told about the pothole long enough ago to have had a decent chance to fix it, otherwise it’s not their fault, because they didn’t know about it. Seems a bit reasonable actually.
I’ve had to replace 2 tyres recently because of “damage”, but I couldn’t tie it down to a specific pothole. And I’ve reported 2 recently which have been fixed within a couple of days, which again seems reasonable. The roads are just in a mess.
I use Fix my Street to see if it’s been reported, then submit a claim which they will reject. So county court, with the costs added on plus an hour of your time to do it at whatever rate you charge. They have paid out every time to me, it does take a little bit of work to check the pothole has been reported and not fixed, which in Northamptonshire they have never been fixed.
Worth the time and effort when tyres are £200 a time.
I think it depends on your council if they actually repair anything, mine doesn’t so they are at fault. Well, that’s my opinion anyway!!

Trying to get a copy of my late Father's service record but have been stonewalled, first by the Army and now the TNA. Yes, I get GDPR, but treating it as a applicant blind request without allowance for being a family member is annoying. Doubt I'll be here in 2043, so someone else will have to do it! Ho hum...

The Army deferred it to the TNA. Don't see how the type or relationship has any bearing on it, and getting a copy of your late father's service record is hardly comparable to collecting young children from a school!

(There are probably exemptions if you're pursuing a legal action if you think that a person in a service has died as a result of something that the service did that contributed to an untimely death. eg 'stand there and watch the mushroom cloud on that atoll' or 'take these experimental meds, there's a good chap'....but then I'd expect them to have the records double encrypted and stored under triple lock in a basement on Betelgeuse).

I think you have to make the request very specific, so if you request all records they'll answer on the basis of that and that only. They probably don't have time or inclination to sift through and find the separate bits they can release.
They probably don't have the records and don't want to admit it, or the records are under a mountain somewhere.
Are you asking for a record of service? Mine was so brief I could write it on a fag packet.

Yes, I have his service medal and a couple of photos of him in battledress, etc, and I thought it'd be nice to put a printout in with it, in case anyone down the line would like to know about what he did in the war. Sadly, it seems we can defeat the nazis, but not GDPR and bureaucracy!
Being able to read through your parents (possibly grandparents as well) medical records would be a good way to see if there is a chance of something heredity being passed on and you would be in a position, with more modern techniques, to possibly put it right.
Bees. Yet another beekeeper has decied it's a great idea to put two hives a couple of hundred metres away from the house. Wifey is kicking up because I'd normally just knock them over then pick them up tomorrow when the bees have fucked off. She want's to write to the town hall so she can get a letter back saying they're permitted, despite not displaying a permit or providing any water for the little stripey cunts. It's either the bees or the pool, and I'd rather have the pool. I've scooped a few hundred out of the pool this evening but I think they reproduce faster than I can drown them.
