Looking good! 👍

Good choice on the S&S pipes. Their products are made by people who ride obsessively and make sure they work. I used to recommend S&S stuff to my clients. A bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Are those indicators kellerman?

What are Vance and Hines shots like? I only ask because they look particularly good on the Fat Bob.

vance and hines are another company that makes aftermarket cruiser pipes that work. i have a V&H pro-pipe on the lardmobile and it works just as i wanted with the configuration i have.

the V&H bigshots and shortshots are pretty good pipes. the bigshots (can´t remember if the shortshots do) have a connecting chamber between the silencers for a bit of extra scavenging and work well. fit and finish is always good, and i´ve never had any problems mounting any V&H system.

the only potential downside is the shots are quite loud. you could probably add some extra packing material and /or a baffle plate to keep it down for long trips (where the noise can be tiring), or just exercise a bit of right hand restraint.

they´re not as loud as a lot of other pipes of similar looking types - exhaust noise is quite subjective - but they do have a nice tone to them.

here´s another company i´ve used and recommended to my clients, which is rarely heard of, but make a really good quality product at a good price…

http://www.khromewerks.com/

well worth a look.

i used to do a `wakeup´ kit for sportsters consisting of a replacement K&N filter, dynojet kit, and a set of khrome wers slip-ons for a very reasonable price, and had quite a few people coming to get them. the engine note on their slip-ons was always very deep and mellow. lovely sounding pipes!

Short shots are loud. Trouble is loud often means power loss if my experience of other big twins is anything to go by. The improved scavenging of linked long shots makes a lot of sense.

Never liked the number plate mount / illumination, it was rough and ready to get me on the road last year;

So I binned the last filament bulb on the bike and went for a diddy LED jobbie;

You soon learn to give that side a wide bearth :lol:

Took it to work today 170 mile round trip, lovely jubbly, empty roads sun in the sky, and for a change not a single speed limit broken.

Well give or take a week that's one year of ownership and 1500 miles done. (we need a burnout smiley)

Now if the taffs could hurry the f up I could be messing about in Wales every weekend

You have to get creative with a bike that has no fairing or cubby holes, so a wee bit of sticky backed velcro later and a hidey hole for the DVR was found;

OK, so it took 2 years to get around to it, but it now has a 'dash' cam installed;

And now a new sat nav with locking mount;

That sat nav should make speed checks easier, didn't realise the speedo was on the tank

Yeah, it's not an ideal location, especially as a spec wearer.

Sat Nav should help then. Must admit I often use my sat nav as a speedo as I only need to look in 1 place for current limit, my speed and where the hell I'm going!

First bimble out of the year :banana-dance:
And I reckon the new sat nav is knackered :angry-cussingblack: it was only a quick 90 minute shake down ride to blow the dust off but it reckons I hit triple digit speeds :obscene-birdiedoublered:
