Nautical, but not a Statue. I think the Originals have pulled them all down around these parts.
Is it a winner or a loser ?

So he was a Captain when on the water, and a Lieutenant when on land. Very confusing. Would he have been Wicket Keeper if he was behind the Batters ?Druid wrote: Sat Jun 07, 2025 7:19 pmHe held the rank of lieutenant, but he was the captain of HMS EndeavourNobby wrote: Sat Jun 07, 2025 10:54 amYou didn’t look at the Plaque properly did you ?KungFooBob wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 10:43 am

I suppose it’s like my mate Dave.
He’s just Dave when he’s kicking a ball, and he’s Sir David Beckham when he’s shaking hands.

When you're that far from home you can probably pick your own job title.

He missed a trick then. He could have told George Three that Australis didn’t exist, gone back and declared himself King.Count Steer wrote: Wed Jun 11, 2025 8:01 amWhen you're that far from home you can probably pick your own job title.![]()

Just one Q? What is it?Jody wrote: Tue Jun 17, 2025 8:30 amYour bike with a barbecue that isn't yours (or your wife's)
From that angle it could be 2 rock people stand-up humping - or wrestling. Or , possibly, a Bizarro caber tossing event.

I'm intrigued though. Where is it? Is that a public area or is it in someone's garden? Just wondering what the story behind it is.

That was too easy. They’re everywhere out here.
Right, for one day only, your Bike with a natural sacred indigenous landmark in the background for double bonus points.

To be honest, it's in the garden where I'm working at the moment. I don't know this area at all, and figured my chances of stumbling across a genuine sports statue out in the wild were pretty slim. So I kinda cheated in order to move the game along as there'd been nearly a whole page of replies with no picture.Count Steer wrote: Tue Jun 17, 2025 12:46 pm I'm intrigued though. Where is it? Is your elderly gent a cricketing man? Nice idea for a garden statue. Shame in a way you aren't there longer, there's a few of us on here with some knowledge of that area. (Can't think of any 'sporting' statues though...apart from a big tree trunk carved into the shape of a standing man pointing a 12-bore at an imaginary duck in the sky
