I’m torn. I would love Harry’s GT6, or a Stag or similar. But I’m not sure what use I’d get out of it. I’m one for driving cars and riding bikes. I wouldn’t buy one to look at.

We’ve currently got an MX5 which is great fun and taken us on a fair few trips involving 500 mile days. I would want the classic car to do the same but it’s not realistic. Hence, when it’s time for the MX5 to be replaced it will probably be with another......

.......MX5*

*or an s2000 if I can find a good one at a sensible price.

I’ve had about 60 cars which will be no surprise, favourite was a 997S, my MG ZT V8 with a mustang engine was nice too. I kept my 309gti for 9 years. Some other memorable cars S2000,X3 35d, 335d, MX5, Corolla GTcoupe, GS450h, Brabus Vito and I’m sure there’s more but they stick in my mind.
About the only thing I’d want now is another elgrand but had this one 5 1/2 years and it’s still going strong so nothing really.

Done most of the ones that I've wanted and now have a driveway of the two ideal cars for me.

Golf R estate - it'll be replaced next year, with another. Perfect blend of power, grip, handling, comfort, size, space etc.

California Ocean - does the camping thing perfectly as well as being a great day van. This may end up being replaced by something slightly larger (to get the loo and shower in it) but in the meantime it's perfect.

I Love cars as much as bikes and have been fortunate to own quite a few over the years. Mostly by buying cheap and fixing any issues or restoring them.

Current wish list would be a 500sl convertible to replace one of my Triumph Stags but the prices are creeping up big time!
Suzuki Jimny as a winter hack.
Maybe a MKII Jag

Have owned a Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ (1998) replaced all of the suspension, all ball joints and bushes. Got the body and axles aligned, adjusted the steering box and it still wandered. They drive like boats by default no matter what is done to them. Great off road though.

Currently selling my Abarth Competizione as replaced it with an A45, also have an E63S wagon and a couple Stags. Wife has an E350 (v6 petrol)convertible.
Neighbours think we are mad.

I've had a few that I wish I held on to. 1984 Porsche 911 (my wife learnt to drive in that-looked great with L plates on) and a Cosworth Sapphire (which was starting to rust and rot horrendously which was why I sold it). But wouldn't want to own either again.

I do like cars with loads of power but dont look like it, although I'd like another V8 in American flavour.. My Lexus V8 was a great car but whisper quiet and the wrong firing order for the V8 sound always expected.

Now have a 1.3 Fiat Doblo MPV, as practicality is now everything for me.

There's a list of vehicles I'd like to drive purely for fun/curiosity. A rotary engined car, a huge befinned V8 Yank boat and a MAN 8x8 truck come to mind immediately.

I've driven a rotary engined car, I suspect plenty on here have, but mine was quite a comical experience in a Maxda, possibly an RX3 or 4, it rotor tips were worn out and it could barely pull itself along at 30mph revving it's knackers off - it was an automatic, my short drive was from the garage I worked at to the scrap yard, passing through a village centre, I got some weird looks driving along with the rotary whining away at about 10,000 rpm, barely moving and a lot of smoke, it was like a clown car.

Citroen Traction Avant

Always liked the look of them. Apart from checking on costs, I have no idea of how practical they are as classics, etc.

One in the pic is advertised for €50k!

I'd love another 240 estate. Preferably the Torslanda version.

Absolutely. Great RWD cars, bullet proof engine, fun to drive. I had two of them. The silver 2.4 one had all the bells and whistles. Leather heated seats, heated mirrors etc.

On my want list of modern cars I'd have a Porsche 997 Carrera as a daily driver. Prices seem to have plateaued.

What I'd really like is an Alfa GTA

Image

My Dad had a beautiful Lancia Fulvia Rallye. He was working abroad as my 17th birthday approached so he (very wisely) sold it and bought my mum a new Honda Civic so I never got to drive it

Image

If money were no object, a nice liitle Dino with flares and chairs.

I don't think I've ever seen a Fulvia, I have seen the engine from one though, it was in a Hillman Imp
