690 back in the garage

Post by joe19 »

So a 690 is back! I traded the S1000XR in for it.

I needed to clear the finance on the BMW and the other half is always talking about learning to ride, so 690 seemed a good bet. Plus I just like them! Still have the 790 so if she doesnt take up riding I probably won't keep both. But with COVID nothing with be happening quickly.

Quick ride to the petrol station today (to brim it for storage!) showed everything was in order. No lumpy brakes, gear shifting was smooth, engine running OK. The petrol cap needs quite a bit of force to shut, perhaps that will loosen up.

You should be able to see the pics here:

(I didn't want to upload and take up storage, and the last 'free' site I used a few weeks ago tried to infect everyone with a virus! Not sure I can embed them here though via Google drive)

Hopefully there will be some days of summer left to get out properly!

I got the proper KTM crash bars on mine fitted when I bought it new. I like them, think they pretty much look like part of the frame and are sizeable enough that they should do a decent job if it goes wrong.
