Yesterday I embarrassed Mrs Gremlin in a local cafe. We were sat outside by the window having a coffee. Two young ladies were having a bit of a fry up inside, on the other side of the window. I could see they were finished and had left a sausage and some bacon, so I went in and asked very nicely if I could have them. :)

They did give me an old look until I added, 'For my dog, she loves a sausage'.

They looked out the window and saw Syds and were then very happy to donate said sausage and bacon and not call the police.

Mrs Gremlin Still maintains I was embarrassing.

Should have adopted your best Ali G accent and asked "can me bitch out there have your left overs?".

And then got hoofed in the spuds probably.

Got that tell-tale tingle of the lips and when I nipped to the gents I saw the red blotch of....HERPES!!! :o

Fuck's sake, I'm going on holibobs on Thursday.

Any how, ran down to a local pharmacy and got a five day course of pills and some cream. Hopefully caught it early and minimise the scabbiness.

Gissa kiss.

Learned that you get better quotes/prices from the likes of booking.com if you book on your phone rather than your computer.

Unfortunately the Which? article doesn't explain why. Could it be there's more value to them in getting those cookies installed on your phone?

Any ideas?

I assume computer = PC, laptop and tablet.

Maybe not, you can usually set your tablet to display the mobile or desktop site in the browser settings, although the extent this may alter what the site sees or stores on your device is beyond me

It's more likely the sites config will change on the OS identifier, so, Windows/Mac/other vs iOS/Android etc for anything being handled at the back end (ie, not display related)

You wouldn't use the booking.com website on your phone, you would use the app.

The app might just be a browser frame, but the servers will serve it differently.

My two weeks of being unsupervised ends this evening, shortly after an aircraft lands at LAX around 20.15. This also means I have to drive down the hill AND go South of Sepulveda Pass after the witching hour... Plus the local freeway will be closed when we get back to town, so will have to detour through town for about 6 miles. :(

Apparently I ate something that disagreed with me. Exhaust is a bit tender & I'm running high EGT's, suspect it looks like a Japanese flag back there.

I drove a coach with a trailer   :banana-wrench: :banana-wrench: :banana-wrench:

Ok, only doing manoeuvres, but that included -
driving around the depot
reversing around parked cars
reversing into a gap between some coaches
reversing the trailer back into it's parking space !!!

I'm quietly proud that, despite the dyspraxia/dyslexia I managed to work out the turning of the wheel the wrong way to get the trailer going the right way !! (Despite many years of pulling dinghy trailers, bike trailers and caravans with a car, I never cracked the reversing thing !!! Always had to unhitch, manually park the trailer and then rehook it to the car later !!! And generally with the coach everything will be as slow as today when reversing so I have time to work it out !!! )

No, I haven't taken the test for the trailer bit, sadly, but I can drive a trailer less than 750kgs without taking the test.

Luckily really - cos I can't see any school letting me do the course and pass as I can't lift the trailer onto the tow-hitch :( :( :( :(

Anyway - the coach is 13m and the trailer is 5m :o :o :o So, an 18m vehicle    In the hands of the FUF :bblonde: :bblonde: :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers: :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Pic of the trailer ( and the back of the coach !! ) :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Yesterday evening, well the purchase was after work!! My temporary apartment has no space to put a freezer so I had been using the freezer bit in the top of the fridge - till I realised it wasn’t always freezing 😳😳

So I went to buy one of those tiny ‘table top’ freezers cos I reckoned I could fit it in a space under the counter on a box (I have a storage box about the right height)

Got home with said freezer and started the game of Tetris 🙄🙄

FFS - I am so not good at this!! I’d ’eyed up’ the space and there was room - just how to actually get the tiny freezer in there 🤣🤣

Anyway, after three goes, all involving moving the fridge (twice completely out of the ‘kitchen’!!) and taking a shelf off the wall (under the sink FFS 🤣🤣)

So, I do now have a freezer 🎉🎉🎉. I turned it on this morning and am now heading to the garage to get stuff and will go to the other garage to get some food out of the chest freezer I have there 🤣🤣

damn I wish I had two decent arms AND a better ability at Tetris IRL (can do the game just fine!!)

Pics - this could be a decent kitchen with some planning and organising !! But it’s not my place so I won’t!! 🤣🤣

Yesterday. Holy Communion service at one of my churches, then a meeting with a colleague in the Rochester Diocesan House. Then back home for lunch, out to fetch my daughter in the evening. Home by 8pm and dinner. Meat balls and pasta!

This morning I took the feline to the vet. Then rode the mighty Triumph to have lunch with a good friend and then rode home. Met someone to chat about her dad's interment of ashes next week, went through a simple order of service. Collected the feline, £600 for his surgery and medication.... spending the children's inheritance he is! Then at 7pm I took our Ascension Day service. Had a brief meeting with my newest lay minister and drove him home. Back home for a cheese sandwich. Might have a glass of wine later on.

@the_priest we always say that we're funding the Vets "All Expenses Platinum Club" trip to Las Vegas.

Today I went to work, did some HV switching to prove equipment worked before and after redundant wiring for the old control system was decommissioned and removed at one of our Substations.

Got home and have been looking at new motorcycle boots. Probably Daytona but I'd forgotten how eye wateringly expensive they are.

No dog walk as the arthritic one took one look at the manky weather and went back to bed, middle dog has a limp so is on limited walks and youngest is recovering from his "op" so again is on limited walks.

Finished scraping the artex off the landing ceiling 🥳. This has not been a fun job.

Went out for dinner to celebrate/because we were too knackered to be arsed cooking 😇

Currently sulking. Planned a lunch date with OH as, whilst I'm off all weekend (I think, waiting to find out about tomorrow!) he's off driving all weekend (not that we generally get to meet at weekends!)

Got a text this morning saying his hours have changed at the school so we can't meet for lunch

Hey ho - more paperwork, ticking things of the list and stuff like that. Would rather be driving to Chambery for lunch !!

(If I get Saturday confirmed as a day off, I will see if I can join him for the weekend on his coach - but I suspect he'll want to keep me at arms length a bit cos life is pretty challenging right now for him and boys don't seem great at sharing/talking about that sort of shit :( :( )

Yesterday, but never mind.

Went to a John Lewis that I haven't been to before. (Horsham). What an odd, slightly unsettling, experience. There were more floor staff than customers, what customers they had all appeared to be in the café (rubbish coffee). Wandering around we must have been 'Can I help you?'d about 12 times by different floor staff. Every item above about £20 had a - v large - security tag on....including saucepans and saucepan lids! The clothing racks on eg the Barbour section had rectangular tags on all dangling a-down-o. One of them kicked off beeping loudly if anyone walked by.

I found it all quite creepy tbh.I know shops have a problem but they've made all the customers feel like crims under surveillance. (Never felt like that in their Chichester store).

Left without buying anything.

Reminds me of Keydell Nurseries in Horndean. There are signs with things like "CCTV in operation" and "Shoplifters with be prosecuted" on every surface. Practically screams "Don't touch my stuff!".

Always makes me laugh BTW...shops don't get to choose who's prosecuted and who's not.

Yup. That's what it felt like. You didn't want to pick anything up. Particularly not in clothing where the tags appeared to be proximity sensitive. :D

I did pick up a pair of Nudie jeans that I liked the look of though.

In that case it was the price tag rather than the security tag that made me put them down quickly.

£145 - for a pair of denims.

Sir probably isn't in the market for some Japanese selvedge denim then.

https://kato-brand.com/collections/jean ... 2236046611

And of course, if you have selvedge denim you have to turn the hems up so everyone can see the seam and know you've got selvedge denim. Because having trousers which don't fit is somehow superior.
