Tomorrow a couple of school runs, both accompanied by another driver to help me learn where the stops are and then in the afternoon a couple of hours with the company instructor in a 13m coach - I’d guess to make sure I can drive one !!! Then hopefully they’ll put me in the bigger ones more

First day driving a bus for the new bunch. Only a short bus (10m) bus still cool. Admin staff up to resort this morning and a school run this afternoon

Got a bit sick of my lawnmower sliding off the edge of slopped lawns as the wheels have no tread left. As i am a Jock i refuse to pay just under £40 per wheel. Today i came up with the bright idea to attack them with the angle grinder. Works a treat

It would wheel spin on mornings where you have a dew on the grass. Fine in a straight line but take a corner to tight its goodnight Geraniums.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Phoned the local tyre joint and the chap I spoke to had a 4.00 x 18 Avon Roadrider in stock,so I pulled out the wheel on the H1a and did battle with the roadworks and traffic to get the the shop, which is a twat to get a parking space at,for added interest.
Delivered the wheel to the same chap and sat down to wait. After about half an hour he called me and I thought, that was quick enough. Unfortunately for us all,the tyre was showing as in stock on their system, but no one had done a physical check. It'll be the middle of next week now before I do the same traffic battle.
Sigh.

The Enfield Friendface groups are full of people saying nowhere has stock of Roadriders.Skub wrote: Thu May 22, 2025 1:36 pm Phoned the local tyre joint and the chap I spoke to had a 4.00 x 18 Avon Roadrider in stock,so I pulled out the wheel on the H1a and did battle with the roadworks and traffic to get the the shop, which is a twat to get a parking space at,for added interest.

Yeah,I can see that happening. A BT46 would do,if that's the case.KungFooBob wrote: Thu May 22, 2025 1:40 pm

Re: What have you done today thread?
Probably a better tyre all round, the Enfield and BSA boys tend to replace the stock Demons on the 650s with BT46s.Skub wrote: Thu May 22, 2025 1:44 pmYeah,I can see that happening. A BT46 would do,if that's the case.KungFooBob wrote: Thu May 22, 2025 1:40 pm

Re: What have you done today thread?
I have 46s on the H1b and they are good enough for the bike's capabilities. I couldn't honestly tell much difference between the two. Absolutely no wet weather testing has been harmed in the formation of this opinion.KungFooBob wrote: Thu May 22, 2025 1:53 pm Probably a better tyre all round, the Enfield and BSA boys tend to replace the stock Demons on the 650s with BT46s.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Part of the class involved putting 70% of the (100) rounds in CoM*. I think I did ok for not using the sights.. altho one frigging over-achiever put 90 rounds in the X circle & then the last 10 through the targets top lipCousin Jack wrote: Wed May 21, 2025 4:24 pm You are retraining as A CIA agent and I claim my Soapy tenner.![]()

*70 of the 100 rounds within the 7 circle. I put one in the 7 & the other 99 in the 8,9 10 & X. That big hole counts as "pretty good shooting" by the instructor.
13 in the 8
about 35 in the 9.. so about 50 in the 10/X, That'll spoil your day.

Re: What have you done today thread?
What range and pistol was that?
It might be fairly good rapid fire at 50 yards with a sloppy Colt Govt 45 , but pants slow fire at 20 with a target pistol.
