It's mostly postage labels I print. And my security spreadsheet when I'm traveling.

I've got a network card to fit a Laser jet 2100 if you want it...KungFooBob wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 8:11 pm I've got a Laserjet 2100 and Jetdirect 170X (cos the 2100 only has a Centronics port, no USB) in the loft that I pull out whenever I need to print. The toner in it must be 20 years old.

I refer you to Michael Bywater's comment about Moleskin notebooks.

Unfortunately Google shows that he said something about Moleskine in 'Lost Worlds' but I can't see exactly what. I know they came in for some stick as yuppie accoutrements and the takeover by venture capital in 2006 created a wailing and a gnashing of teeth in certain quarters.cheb wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 1:08 pmCount Steer wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 8:35 am I print stuff - templates, patterns, labels etc. (I also draw/sketch/work stuff out on paper a lot - always carry aand

However, the small, slim, softish back ones I'm using predate the take-over* and they're a very handy size.

He has a wonderful line in pithy comments. This one mentioned Bruce Chatwin, and ended with 'It's only a fucking notebook.
The book is worth a read, as Bywater's stuff generally. He wrote as Bargepole in Punch too, that was excellent ranting

Gremlinette decided that holiday toes were needed prior to an upcoming trip to Italy.

Call IT Support, they love teaching people how to print. It's what they live for.Sunny wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 8:43 pm I have no idea how to print at work. I've been there a year. Only noticed the printer existed a couple of months back.

Likewise, I have a card that allegedly allows ‘anywhere’ printing although I’ve never been told how it works although I understand the principle that i can send a document to print and swipe my card at any office and it’ll produce the document. Not that I make a habit of attending the offices around the country… Fuck that, I’d rather print docs at homeSunny wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 8:43 pm I have no idea how to print at work. I rode a particular feature on the MTB last night i've wanted to hit for 4-5 years now. I'll be the first to admit it was a rubbish attempt at it and over time it's got easier in terms of entry and landing, but i DID hit it... Twice !!!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
At the GP surgery. the receptionist asked me my date of birth:
Me: 19th February 1949
Receptionist: 1959?
Me: 1949. And thank you.
Yeah, I'm 76 but don't look a day over 66.
(Or maybe she should have gone to Specsavers.
