If you ever see Mahou Reserva buy it. It's stronger than Mahou red and is very tasty.

I'd pay the extra for the Estrella.
The best supermarket beer I've found is Mercadona own brand stuff in the red cans. I have an aversion to Lidl and Aldi so have no idea what their stuff is like.

The Traitors, I loves it.
So I was very excited just now when I discovered they're doing a celebrity version!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
My mum, who struggles with Whatsapp, is 82. The other day she sent me some photos I've never seen before of her dad, her grandad, her grandmother, etc. Turns out my niece has been delving into our family tree on Ancestry and found loads of stuff and sent it to me on my mum's phone. Going for dinner on Sunday so will be good to see if she has any more.
Was showing a mate in work. Today he came in with one of his relative's WW1 dog tags (made from leather(?), Pvt. Austen, Honourable Artillery Co., in case you wondered ) plus a war badge with the accompanying letter, even in the original envelope. How cool is that?!
And now another mate has just shown me a a video clip of his mum, who just happens to be in the video to Hey, Jude. She's the young blond with a black bow in her hair when everyone comes in giving it 'Nah, nah, nah'. Camera lingers on her for some time.
It's been an interesting day.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
My commute through the Blackwall Tunnel of late. In terms of traffic, anyway. Being charged smarts a little.
Found this dreadful article online as I searched for the answer to my question: Where the fuck has all the traffic gone?
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/transpo ... 27278.html
Approaching the tunnel at 8am is like 3am on Sunday morning: empty. So where is everybody? I can't believe the Silvertown Tunnel has made that much of a difference. No reports of Tower Bridge in gridlock, nor the Dartford Crossing. According to the article the Rotherhithe is ok too.
So...where'd everybody go?

Celebrating the demise of my printer. I'm too cheap to bin a working printer but it's finally stopped working properly.
The old joke: I don't know what machine they're raging against but my guess is that it's a printer

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
After suffering with a couple of inkjet printers I bought a laser printer in 2006. It's still going strong. If you don't need to print in colour a monochrome laser printer is almost certainly cheaper than several inkjets and a succession of dried up ink cartridges.cheb wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 10:43 am Celebrating the demise of my printer. There's another printer in the household and happily it's a networked one so I can use it.

I've got a Laserjet 2100 and Jetdirect 170X (cos the 2100 only has a Centronics port, no USB) in the loft that I pull out whenever I need to print. The toner in it must be 20 years old.

My dog is pretty much back to his old self, after all the shenanigans of recent weeks
Even managing to wean him back onto normal dog food (which is Royal bloody Canin), much to his disgust.

The only thing I used to print was budget airline boarding passes.
Smartphone apps have done away with that too.

I say I print stuff at work, I was well annoyed when I had to map a printer.. I'd worked there nearly 3 years at that point.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I have no idea how to print at work. I've been there a year. Only noticed the printer existed a couple of months back.
