Cock up in work - fingers being pointed at my team. Well, I have three guys who are being pulled every way, having not been allowed to replace my guy who left last year. The phrase 'we need to throw the book at X' was used. Fuck off, the fact that we're being asked to do more with less and the fact that mistakes are creeping in should tell you we need support, not a bollocking. FFS, my boss needs to learn to punch up, not down. Stand up for your fucking team.
We had words over Skype. Pleasant enough, but firm.
Told him some time ago things will go pear, but the shit keeps coming. Latest gem: we need to hold a Gilt portfolio. Great, but we don't have a bond system. Answer : let's just fudge it with some manual postings and pretend it's a loan. WTF?
I've just sent an email stating my frustrations and my blood pressure (160/92) and telling him I need to look after my health, so will be taking some time off.
Chez Gremlin may be on the market to fund earlier-than-expected retirement soon. I am so fucking angry right now.
Lack of support in any industry sux big ones. Hope the manager sorts his shit out and starts doing the job he should be doing (and gets you the staff you need) - or that Chez Gremlin sells very fast!!

He seems to be improving round after round which is good to see.
Currently watching 20th frame between Higgins and Williams, very much a different pace to watching O’Sullivan…

Was going to take bike for MOT, but the front left seal blew out... poops. Need to order new seals and find the time to get them fitted. And then back to getting said MOT. Bike has 1 week left on it at the moment.
Visited a parishioner who had a bad set of seizures on Tuesday, she has had her license medically revoked for two years, at least she is up and about and doing okay. Then off to visit a widow as I took her husbands funeral yesterday. She was holding together okay, able to think about what she wants to do next. The whole street came out to stand quietly and bow when the hearse came past yesterday. Very moving for her and her son.
She was happy with how the service and burial went, I kept it simple and short.
Back home to sort out some food for tonight. Might have to do some shopping with the wife.... not a bad thing really.
Enjoying the bright sunshine and just relaxing for a short while. Going to start putting some words down for Sunday's sermon, which will of necessity be short as I have a Baptism straight after the service and it is our first Sunday service, so a simpler order of service for children and families.

There are few feelings more satisfying than the latter stages of mortgage repayment when you can see the mortgage is scared shitless and running for it's life. But the coup de grace is the best bit...

Re: What have you done today thread?
My day so far -

Could have got the fuel economy down a bit if I'd stuck to 130 on the speedo rather than an actual 130 !!!
But hey, 10 hours door to shuttle including one stop for fuel and coffee, one stop for coffee and the final stop to get some drinks the kids love and top up with fuel.
(The trip is different cos I zero'd it when I filled with fuel yesterday and then drove home!!)
Should get from Folkstone to my aunt's place with fuel to spare - and hopefully miss some of the traffic. I got here early enough for the 13:30 train but they wanted 70€ extra for that, so I stuck with the 15:30 train (two hours earlier than booked) and I'll sit and chill for a bit!!
Can't go snooze as it's way too hot in the car here - why is it that almost no carparks are built with shade of any sort, FFS

Re: What have you done today thread?
Yesterday. Big funeral, about 175 people there. Two hour service followed by the burial at the local cemetery. Then the wake, which was in the church hall, went on from 1pm to 5pm. An excellent community response and a well presented buffet and plenty of drinks. The vicar had a bottle of stout and stayed and chatted with several of the congregation. Then back to deal with admin work, working out what sort of new heating system would be good in the church community hall. Looks like electric/solar might be a way forward, solar for lights mainly, but time will tell.
Today I collected my girl from the clinic, quiet drive there and back thankfully. Monday PM might be different as Bank Holiday...
Going to go and cook a nice chicken stir fry just now. Getting hungry. Glass of cider to go with it.

Today, other than a bicycle ride with man flu (it got messy sneezing whilst trying not to come off, given that you close your eyes when sneezing) I have been adding a Warman humbucker, with DPDT switch to get parallel and series coils. It's tight for space in said geetarr.

Started stealthily getting the rest of t'other half's crap together in the garage, ready to move into his workshop when he's not around
He won't notice, but he'll whinge if I do it when he's in there.
Went out on the bike for a while. Had a lovely time, but got cold. Regretted wearing unlined leathers.
