Packed up some more bags and put them in the car. I can’t remember how much storage/shelving is in the new place so I’m aiming to put stuff from the bags onto the spaces/shelves I think they’ll ‘live’ then have a good look around the tiny kitchenette to see what I think I can store there. Back to my place to work out what will fit!

Kinda sad I don’t have the skills/strength/space to take out and store the corner kitchen unit. When I eventually get the council place I’ll need to buy one, and it isn’t part of the goods sold with the apartment so I can take it - just can’t get it out or store it😕😕😕. (It was only cheap ikea so not expensive to replace)

Knackered already - sad living somewhere seasonal - everyone is busy packing up themselves 🙄 although there’s no room for helpers until I’ve packed more!!! 🤣🤣

I've just quit my job. Needed to be done but seriously not sure if I am happy or sad.

Boss forced my hand a bit so I ended up having to have a conversation rather than handing him a letter!!!

But hey ho - finish on Sunday :bblonde:

Means I have three full days to get out of the apartment and hopefully will find some help for that!!!

Struggled to get my camper to start last night but borrowed a battery and she fired straight up. So new battery is on shopping list, but it was off for the MOT this morning which it passed. For some bizarre reason teg temp gauge isnt working now but it runs fine and isnt overheating or owt, but that will annoy me. Ho hum..

Dragged the mower out of the garage, persuaded it to fire up & for the first time time this year I've mowed the lawn.
Yesterday I called in at Merlin cycles & amongst other stuff I bought a new Bottom Bracket for the road bike that I use on the trainer for Zwifting.
Now it's time to stop procrastinating & get Zwifting...

Helped the Gremlinette clear out all the broken glass from having her passenger window smashed when she was out last night.

Fuckers.

She's found one on eBay nearby and done a deal at £35 and a bloke recommended by my local grease monkeys will fit it for £75.

Harsh lesson learnt not to leave anything in the car, not even a cheap jacket, lest somebody thinks it's worth their while nicking it.

Same happened to one of my daughters a few years ago, although it wasn’t a cheap jacket (Mulberry fucking handbag) and a claim on her insurance for the glass (2 series BMW). There is still a strong suspicion that it was her recently ex-boyfriend who did the deed, having bought said bag in the first place.

Given the outcome, I regarded her inconvenience and outlay as an idiot tax for either leaving the bag on display in the car, for atrocious taste in boys, or both.

Thankfully her taste in boys has improved since!

I have explained to the Gremlinette, a few times, not to leave her [Insert designer name here] bag on the front seat whilst driving, which she does constantly, let alone whilst parked up. Ditto the phone.
Scoundrels on scoots are known to simply ride up to cars at traffic lights, smash window and, well...smash and grab is the accurate description.

Does she listen to her wise old dad?

Haha, my daughters are 28, I’d like to be able to tell you that they eventually believe what their father tells them…

… but I’m yet to reach that eventuality!

Booked the wife's car in for a diagnostic at the local BMW stealership.

She's been whinging about it for a week or two, but today I took it for a drive.

From a standstill or < 10mph, if you start to accelerate while the wheel is turned (like pulling on to a smallish roundabout) the drive disengages for a faction of a second (like clutch slip), then engages again with a loud bang and a judder.

It's an X Drive X2 so it's either going to be transfer box or the 8sp autobox, thank god it's an approved used with a warranty until July.

BMW motorbike stuff, @Rockburner will be proud!

Stripped faring off, gained access to ECU and fitted John Gemi chip. Whilst there fitted lead for my new NOCO charger which subsequently is not working FFS. Also went to replace the air filter only to find a K&N already fitted, so cleaned that instead.

Removed rear wheel to gain access to the clutch slave and replaced with a nice new Magura OEM one, bleeding it was a royal PITA though as someone had fitted some quick bleed widget but was seized! All back together now

Tomorrow will be valve gear lash, valve clearances, oil and filter change, new plugs and a TB balance - may even give it a clean.

Ground the wire from the sender unit, if it pegs the gauge, it's the sender unit that's buggered.

Worked out how much the pet insurance will cover, and how much I will owe various vets. It's bad, but not as bad as I thought. 😬

Got told that three neurologists think there's something going on with a potential mass on my dog's Pituitary Gland (in his brain), but the Radiologist doesn't. So we're still in limbo, but it feels less likely that he's off for brain surgery.

Decided 'fuck it'. Ordered the watch I intended to order a week ago. Coming to a watch thread near you soon.
(It was supposed to be to celebrate paying off my mortgage, which I did last Wednesday, but as my dog selfishly got diagnosed with a brain tumour it rather took the shine off things.)

I was stripping the front end off my van to do an engine swap. The lower valance what things like the radiator and intercooler sits on had a few stubborn bolts. Pushing down with all my might with a socket set did the bastard not slip of the bolt. This send me flying forward with force and speed and faceplanted the steel area where a headlamp should be. Still got the scar on my fucking lip. I think that was the point that made me but a battery rattle gun.

Love my rattle guns, got a Dewalt cordless that will just about rotate an entire car around it & a pneumatic Earthquake gun, both are around 1400ft/lb. They both make short work of the lugnuts on the F350, 9/16-18 thread.

Discovered that pre-flighting the ZRX was a waste of time as it's going to rain all bloody weekend (& snowing in the mountains). Bugger.

Penultimate transfer this morning - a lie in as only started at 5:15 !! Tomorrow's final transfer I have to get the vehicle at 4:00

After I came home and packed a couple of boxes (that I now can't carry   ), washed my work jackets, drove down to Albertville to get a MiFi box that will actually work where I'm living for now, picked up a package containing some of those sucky bags (the ones you put clothes/fabric in and then vacuum/suck the air out!! Sucky bags has always worked for me, but I know you guys will make it rude    ) so that tomorrow I can put the last of the clothes (winter) and fabric in them to store.

Some friends are coming to help me move the freezer (and contents) but I saw them earlier and told them I wasn't sure if I could find a solution as the freezer won't fit in the new place!!! They are awesome and have offered to put it in their garage (maybe 500yds away) and give me a key so I can go get what I want when I need to. Some people really are amzing!

Tomorrow they'll do that with me then move a couple of other things (including the heavy boxer since he's a weight trainer :angelic-green: ) and some bags of books n stuff to a different garage !!

I really need to decide how long I'm going to the UK before I start the new job (so I can tell them when I can start!!) but I'm too knackered tonight - and so much of me hurts from carrying stuff!! So that's probably tomorrow's task - although might have to work it out roughly and then talk to himself to see if he's doing a holiday trip next weekend and if there's a spare seat for me to tag along (pretty sure it will be too complicated with his boss to add me, but, as he always says, on verra !! ).
