Right I’m off to drink a few weeks worth of petrol money on Old Fashioned, that’s the cocktail not flared trousers and heavily patterned, big collared shirts!
Try a Long Island Iced Tea, no umbrella or funny colours, just hard booze with a splash of coke (if done properly).

Today I drank a lot of Espresso Martinis and Black Russians, topped off with a couple of G&Ts at a slight less salubrious establishment.
Then got a night bus back to where I was staying in Stratford as no Uber drivers could be found at 2.30am in central London...

Dissolved into bed, slept, woke up, did a management meeting from bed, showered.

Took some gold that t'other half dug up to Bonham's in Bond Street.

Train home, finished off writing a Data Strategy for a client.

And now I think I've finally sobered up 😆

Sold my Bianchi and Cinnelli road bikes and bought a second Giant Defy. I don't find race bike geometry comfortable any more. The relaxed Defy set up suits me better and surprisingly I'm faster by quite some margin. NBD next Thursday.

Got Forscan working on the new laptop. Gotta watch some YT tutorials so I don't fuck something up on the Explorer ST or F350.

Had to d/l a driver to get it talking to the ST, but all good now. Already had a OBDLinkEX cable.

If you have a Ford or Mazda, get it.

Collected the daughter from the clinic. Quiet drive there and back. Arrived at home as the Evri parcel was delivered. Rather battered but the parts are all okay. Contacting the mechanic on Monday to see when they can be fitted. Made the wife coffee. Apparently the hot cross buns need to be toasted… well there, I learned something new today.

3 hours ago we saw black clouds looming.
Then it came. The roads in town are blocked.
I've spent 2 hours making sure basement apartment didn't flood.
Had all the portable pumps going.

The garden and drive are lakes

The dry river is now almost overwhelmed.
Worst storm in our 10 years

In 2 hours the pool was overflowing.

Still coming down but I've got it all under control

I love cocktails but so many that I'd like to try (for the spirits/flavours) have coke in them and I do not like coke!!

Mind you, I've found a few without that I rather like!!!! :angelic-green: :angelic-green: :angelic-green:

Today I did airport transfers in a minibus for the first time this year. Pretty sure it's my boss' way of saying he'd rather I leave than work the summer - but not gonna make it easy for him

Aime - Tignes - Grenoble - Tignes - Geneva - Aime

Was supposed to stop in Albertville to pick up some folks with another of our drivers but couldn't get there in time - the office girl obviously thought I'd sat around having food and a rest and didn't believe me when I said I'd not actually had a break all day (14h start to finish, no actual break, unless you count sitting on the loo or buying a sarnie to eat as driving

Walked the dog with my lovely wife up the river, through the yew trees and masses of bluebellls.
I've walked him again by another of Carlisle"s rivers so he's about done.
The dogs tired and sleeping between us on the sofa, my wife and I have had a good potter about and are just chillin.
Nowt special, its the little things.

Hired an E-MTB from Aberystwth for the day as an extended test ride. Took it to Bwlch Nant yr Arian, I'm not a Dyfi kind of rider and this place was closer.

Loved the bike and bought a new one.

Rum and coke is an occasional drink for me but it’s rare as I dislike coke too. The only fizzy drink I, err, drink, is water. I would have tried a Long Island ice tea but no where we’ve been here does them? Consoled myself with some mojitos though! I’ve drink more spirits on this break than I’ve had in the last five years, probably…

I've had a messy week in my shed workshop. Loads of tools were on the floor, bits that have been taken off bikes were everywhere, and I could hardly walk in without tripping up on some rubbish. So, I have made a start on tidying the workshop shed up. Tools into toolboxes, screwdrivers into a box just for screwdrivers and the list goes on and on. I have just stopped to refresh myself with a cuppa and I can actually now walk in to the big shed and not feel engulfed in sh*t. I have pulled the dust covers off two project bikes that I am eager to make a start on (for one bike) , and a bit more progress on the other. But as ever for me, space is at a premium and I just don't have any where to go. But I do feel better now I am in a more tidy space than I was when I unlocked the doors earlier on. :D

My poor old (16 yrs) dog Dixie (the dog) died 2 years ago this week and can be seen enjoying the fresh air on her mat just down from one of the project bikes I removed the dust cover off today. I get told off for saying that I loved her more than anything in the World but she was my girl and I loved her and I miss her every day. It is all sad for me, but the saddest bit is that the bike should have been done 2 years ago! There is a tale behind this bike between me and my mate John with him needing cash which I will come back too once it makes its way into the project section! :D

It has a cool reg.

This afternoon I did a little bit of spraying. I forgot that I had this as I had pretty much finished it and stuck it into the loft! :?

My camera is absolutely useless. The paint glitters like a fairy's glittery thing, but in the picture looks kind of drab. In the flesh (or metal) as much as I hate (spraying flake) it looks cool. Tomorrow I will type that I am adding more clears coats and then once dried colour sanding and buffing.

I can think of better ways to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Incidentally, part of my Mrs' job is to manage a shop that sells chocolate bars. Hence the fruit bowl thing full of Maltesers, Crunchies and bars of Galaxy. Who needs fruit?

Fitted new rear shock on my camperbus. Still got fronts to do and another steering box as mine leaks.
