Damn. I've only ever done Anglesey once but I bloody LOVED it!!!
I'll be working sadly (and not in the country!) but hope some of you go, it'll be awesome.

Re: Anglesey trackday.
I'm racing there end of June and haven't ridden there before so yup, I'm potentially up for that- would also give me another chance to test the wet-bike Bandit out too, assuming of course that I've managed to get it running right by then , or not chucked it in a river/ set fire to it before, which is probably more likely....
Will look at commitments over next day or so a nd let you know

Re: Anglesey trackday.
I'm on for this- am also going to book Snett for the Monday before (28/4) , I am racing there 2nd weekend in May and I haven't ridden there since 1988, and I gather it's changed a little since then so I think I need to familiarise myself with it!

Not sure if my bike will be back from Portimao in time, must be 4+ years since I've ridden Ty Croes, about time I got back there ( I did live on the island for 3 years and love it there).

Dodgy & I are now both booked in there and staying in a place just down the road , so will have a few beers and a proper catch-up the night before.Flux wrote: Thu Apr 17, 2025 12:52 pm Not sure if my bike will be back from Portimao in time, must be 4+ years since I've ridden Ty Croes, about time I got back there ( I did live on the island for 3 years and love it there).

Ah that's a shame James- hope the Portimao journey and TDs go well - that's a proper trip you do!hawkati wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 10:12 am Dang. That's just before I set off for portimao. Love Anglesey. Great circuit, awesome scenery and it's a fine road trip through walesland to get there & back.
And @Dodgy69 - I've just noticed what's on there on the two days immediately following our TD, should make it more interesting than the average TD
Well, either that or just mean there's lots of red flags for broken down bikes

Re: Anglesey trackday.
Having a beer at the Holland Arms, interesting place, I'll leave it at that. Tricky landing soon. Food, beer, no football, was hoping they'd have Utd match on. R well...
Some nice scenery on the way up, on A5. Beautiful weather, couldn't ask for more, well maybe a better room. Only £45 cash though.

Is it worth £45?Dodgy69 wrote: Thu May 01, 2025 7:08 pm Having a beer at the Holland Arms, interesting place, I'll leave it at that. Tricky landing soon. Food, beer, no football, was hoping they'd have Utd match on. R well...

Bar's good, food was nice enough, steak pie n chips £10.
Stella 4.60.
Man rooms only, ladies wouldn't like. No ensuite, just a sink.

Re: Anglesey trackday.
Was a top day with the Dodgy one on his MT
What an absolutely brilliant circuit Anglesey is, has a bit of everything and although I know I've still work to do in a few places to be on the pace when I go back there end of next month, I've got a good bit of it sussed and love it , particularly the section from the banked loop to the tight uphill left-hander.
The good news for me was that my "new" Bandit (or "Trigger's Broom" as I've come to know it...
) performed faultlessly for complete sessions,
which is a real result as it's not managed more than 2 or 3 laps before now, due to multiple reasons...
The not quite so good news is that it caused me to have my first on-track lie-down in 4 or 5 years , but bike damage is minimal, no damage to me other than a friction burn on my arse, and I know my airbag suit works now
But most importantly for me, I know why I crashed and will be sorting that this week so it doesn't happen again, well, on this bike anyway!

Oh and P.S. - the hotel was fine for what we needed it for, and bearing in mind what we paid, was fair value- I would use it again if just me staying there and it was one night, but a definite no-no beyond those parameters
