Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Had a very small dent in the wing of my car that some nice soul did somehow the other week. No paint damage just a dent. Chips Away arrived to repair it today but I had to go out. Bloke said I'd not notice it had been there when he was done.
Mrs checked dent gone, paid and off he went.
I get home check and half the wing has a different finish to the rest and is really flat, dull and rippled Gutted. Before it had a small dent, now it looks like its had a shit respray on half the wing.
He's coming back Friday. But not holding my breath. Wish I'd have left it now

I bought a second hand FB back in first lockdown but didn’t put it on the wall till this week. (It’s tiny so no interest to you guys - 19”)
Anyway, didn’t realise that not only doesn’t it have a remote, it doesn’t have an on/off button - that I can find
So I ordered a remote online that said it was the right one for it
Doesn’t work dammit!!!

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Plans going to shit....I had it all mapped out last night. I had a ton of cardboard packaging in the garage, a pallet on the drive and bags of polystyrene packing material in various places. The plan was simple:
Get up and do what I need to do for work at 6am. Fill the wife's car with the stuff to be recycled. Be at the tip for 7am when it opens. Get back, go an a run with the dog. Breakfast. Back working for 9am.
The reality was different:
Alarm goes off at 5:50, wife's phone buzzes 2 mins later. Her engineers have discovered they don't have the materials needed for today's job. She throws on some clothes, goes to the office/warehouse to supply them. Get's back at 7.30 I load up her car. Windscreen wipers no worky. WTF? It's a Honda, they never go wrong. Spend 20 minutes looking for handbook, checking fuses, etc. By this time it's stopped raining so I'll chance it. Set off, windscreen wipers working fine. WTFx2? Get to tip after negotiating traffic due to late set off, unload my stuff. See some bloke struggling with a 1 tonne bag of garden waste. Offer to help him, Christ it's heavy. We manhandle it up the steps, empty it into the skip, he points at my clothes and apologises. I am covered in mud and shit.
Sat here now. Not yet had a shower, still covered in muddy clothes as work has suddenly gone a bit mental, wondering why the Cosmic Joker has it in for me today.....
Edit: Just sat here laughing. Have received an email from the Bank of England advising they will deliver back the considerable amount of German Government bonds we pledged as collateral once we have paid a fee of....wait for it....£0.68p. Sixty-eight fucking pence..... Let me dig around in the top drawer of my desk.

Putting my back out
I was supposed to be helping a mate out for the rest of this week, so letting him down makes me doubly annoyed

I've got a twinge in the back today, from doing yoga last night.
Do you have an address as to where I should send my Man Card?

Cyclists of Cambridge.
Its dark now but why insist that you do not need lights, and when you nearly get clouted you get upset?
Not just the occasional one but the majority seem to think that the cycle lanes and Dutch roundabout make them invincible....

People who say "ter" instead of "to". Here's an example. Skip to 16 seconds: "We just can't seem ter... er... to make progress..."
He's not the only one who does this, it's rife.

Mot, £470.
Not helped by wanting decent tyres. I could have ssve £120 I guess by getting Chinese stuff

Ouch!
IME some Chinese tyres are grip ok but tend to wear rapidly. Used to get about 6k from the tyres on our Vito.

We have 'leccy scooters on trial in Nottingham. They're going to save the planet apparently, my son thinks they're ace. However students pick them up in town then dump them in Wollaton or wherever, then a man goes around in a van to pick them up.
Consequently for any given journey, theres 1 trip for a leccy scooter plus a trip there and back again for a man in a tranny van
In theory though there's just as many stoodents who want to make the reverse journey?
Fwiw I see there's some 'boris bike' scheme in our local city (la Rochelle) and a geezer goes round in a van a few times a day moving them about a bit and, presumably, rescuing the knackered ones ...
