I've fallen in love with a Christopher Ward watch. (Two, to be precise, but one is particularly luring me in).

The internets seem to reckon CW have a regular sale in June (and January), so I suppose I should wait...

Might be of interest. Recent R4 programme 'Dough' episode all about watches with a big segment that was basically a free ad for CW. :) (Dough is a spin off of 'The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread' prog).

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Yep, CW have regular sales. They are very well thought of watches.

How do you tell the time with this?

Are the birds the hands, I can't work it out?

A watch as gorgeous as the Celestial doesn’t need hands. Instead, a pair of purple birds are in charge of time-telling duties. The one near the dial rim shows the minutes, and its slower inboard cousin the hours.

I didn't have the attention span to scroll that far down the page.

I like Christopher Ward watches. They do some very nice pieces. The Dune collection is unusual:
https://www.christopherward.com/c65-dun ... V0-VT.html
although their Belcanto is a bit 'in yer face' and who needs a watch that chimes on the hour?

I'm working on the assumption the bubble is for ensuring you're staying fairly upright on the way home from the pub, by holding your arm outstretched and making sure it stays somewhere near the middle, right?

Stockists are a bit scarce in the UK (allegedly one in Lakeside but the jeweler's website say not), but they have a stockist in Pescara, Abruzzo. Guess where I'm going at the end of May. 8-)

HAve to admit, I'd love one of the bronze bodied Heuer Autavias, the smoke green one especially.

I've always thouygh u-boat were far too big for my skinny girls wrists, but it looks like they do a 41mm version of that.

Some of their watches are HUUUUGE and would look silly on my wrist. The 40mm Darkmoon would look delightful. Just need to convince Mrs. G.

I like the CW Dune dials, the striped effect isn't dissimilar similar to my Omega.
I don't like round blobs for hour markers though, so they aren't for me.

I was discussing this one with my mate the other day, his comment was pretty much in line with the consensus on here: vile.

At this point, I'm gonna say that I quite like it in a whimsical and a not-taking-life-too-seriously way.

Interestingly, CW also offer a bespoke service, so you can design a watch for a specific group of people. Like bikers. Maybe as a reward for long service or something. Just sayin', Weeksy... ;)

Or you might like to buy the Goodison edition, mate.
