I went out this morning, had a ride up a salty A12 to Lowestoft (actually Kirkley) and back again, beautiful weather, heated grips on no.4 of 5, didn't feel cold, lots of cars about, quite a few being driven badly, lots of bikes about all being ridden slowly, I took it steady as it was the first time I've ridden a bike this year, still love the CB1000R, I might even purchase a Honda t shirt.

This morning I gave the Street Triple a clean & lubed the chain,I sorn'd it last month so it's not been on the road for about 6 weeks.

I called in at one of my mate's for a catch up & a brew. When I was leaving his 19 yr old daughter pointed to the Street Triple & said ''That's a cool bike'.I got her dad to take her photo on the bike, she took a selfie with it a few years back. There's hope for the youth yet :D

The point of no return is when he buys a Honda BSB team fleece, from last year because they're half the price of this year's and then wears when he goes to the supermarket with the wife in the car.

It's not a joke, I see them, often wearing ten year old HM Plant fleeces in Tesco.

Yup, saw a couple here a while ago in matching HM Plant fleeces. Everyone else in summer party gear, but they MUST wear the right gear :D

I'm neither fat enough or bald enough for the BSB team fleece at Tesco look, I'm more of an 80s rock band t shirt at Morrisons type

I've got a Rizla Suzuki one that was given to my wife by Paul Denning when we were at Donington enjoying Suzuki BSB hospitality and she mentioned that she was cold, Paul heard her and gave her the fleece.

I took the F350 out, gonna take it out again later & also tomorrow. Gave it a good spiff-up this morning, every time I work on it it looks better than before. It will be 1 year on Monday since I bought it, but didn't pick it up for 10 days as it was the other side of Phoenix.

I've got a Rizla Suzuki umbrella I bought at a BSB round somewhere, the best part of 20 years ago. It lives in one of the cars in case of emergencies.

The other car has a Virgin Trains umbrella in it.🚂

I've got a Virgin Racing (remember them?) rain jacket they gifted me in about 2011. Red Bull brolly from the Belgian grand prix was an emergency purchase.

Our old flat in MK was below one owned by Red Bull, we'd see young lads (never saw a girl) from their driver programme in the lift all the time. Head to toe Red Bull gear, but most of it actually quite subtle.

Nice afternoon pootle around the countryside, staying away from any roads where my 55mph top speed would make me a mobile chicane.

425 miles on the clock now, 75 more and it can have it's first service.

According to the handbook you can then rev it another 1krpm (to 4.5krpm), until you hit 1000 miles and then you can use all the revs, bollocks to that. After it's first service it's going to get ridden normally.

Yesterday was a service and wash for the Triumph

Image

Today I was out and about again so that’s twice now before the middle of March!
A trip out to Leicester way for a coffee on mostly A roads just in case there were any gremlins lurking from yesterday’s work, I didn’t want to get stranded on some unclassified road in the middle of nowhere calling the AA.
A quick inspection and all looked good, then it was over to the cafe at the Triumph factory via my preferred B roads and unclassified stuff.
Loads of bikes about, more coffee and cake then a meander back home, a good 80-90 miles all in.

It was another good opportunity to get up to speed with my Christmas present, the new Beeline Moto 2.
Having had the original Beeline for a couple of years I can really say this is an improvement with it’s bigger display and revised graphics giving lots more info on upcoming direction changes, plus the real time speed limit info.

Interestingly, I left the bike over winter with a near full tank, after last weeks ride it was down to about 1/3 so I filled up with some Esso E5 premium stuff. The bike definitely ran better with the fresh fuel, smoother tick over, cleaner acceleration, I don’t remember feeling this after previous winter lay ups. I have never used any fuel stabilisers in the past but am thinking it may be a good idea later this year.

Didn’t get any photos today, but this was the state of the air filter yesterday, that’s after about 5000ish miles.

Where's pic taken ??

I took the GS on the back roads to Crossgates cafe, loads of bikes there, GSs probably winning the day. Big boy breakfast and a nice hilly, twisty ride home. Armchair riding at it's finest.

For some reason I don't get pics when out with my mate, but a great 130 miles had.. Perfect weather. 👍

It was on the way up from Bakewell, getting towards Litton. One of the smaller roads.

We should have a Peak District meet up one weekend. Not that I'll turn up.

Went to Southend but didn’t stop - first decent amount of miles on the CBR in 6 months.
