A US Secret Service agent who leapt on to John F Kennedy's limousine as it came under fire in Dallas, and was pictured in famous photos of one of the most dramatic events in US history, has died at the age of 93.

Clint Hill later became a bestselling author, but was haunted for decades by guilt over Kennedy's assassination.

Hill died at his home on California on Friday, according to a statement from his publicist.

On 22 November 1963, he was assigned to protect the president's wife, Jacqueline Kennedy.

Hill was riding on a car behind the Kennedy limousine when the first shot rang out.

He immediately rushed towards the couple and started to climb on to the back of the limousine as the shooting continued.

Hmmm not particularly 'light hearted' news.

There's a pub in Borough market sells queer beers, some only in half pints such is their strength. My mate was on a session with it, said he felt fine until his legs refused to do what his brain was telling them to do.

When I lived in Cornwall "The authorities" were threatening to deny licenses to pubs that sold proper scrumpy to the tourists near the coast owing to their habit of falling off the cliffs after a pint or two. Many pubs had a structure at the end of the bar to hide the barrel.

A few years ago we were camping at the huge sand dune western France (Pila?)

We walked to the next campsite and they only had cans of them 9% "Super" lagers.

Our lass was loving hers, till her legs suddenly went. I forgot to warn her

Talking of nice beer, some pals from UK turned up with this. Very nice.
Turns out it's from Lidl.
I'll be buying more of it

Hard to believe the London Eye has been up for 25 years. Can't really imagine the London skyline without it now.

It's actually not as shit as it could have been. I've been on it a couple of times, mainly taking guests who don't live in London. Views from it are pretty good and as an engineering achievement, it's pretty good.

We just had some pillock decide to light someones car on fire, but he didn't know how the fumes spread along the ground... so he not only set the car alight, but also himself. Hilarious video of him jumping over the fence & running down the street in flames

I lived in Darkest Devon in my youth. I was too young to drink but my Dad went to a few pubs that served real scrumpy, to locals only. Polite requests were politely declined, groups of youfs demanding scrumpy were not served anything at all.
A friend used to buy a small barrel and liked a glass or two. At 16 I had 2 halves one lunchtime, and slept all afternoon.
