Not really knowing what to do for a memorial for our late dog. Browsing Eden project in Cornwall- a place we all love. See they offer a bronze leaf memorial that you can permanently have placed either in the Rainforest biome or the wild walk. He never went into the biomes, but did the walk loads so chose that.

Will take about 4 months to be ready and then we get an invite to view etc.

I think that’s rather lovely and feels suitable.

Had a Eucharist with Baptism service this morning. A young man who has been coming to church for a few months decided that he really wanted to be Baptised! And today was that day! He is the same height as me, so that is a nice change! His whole family came, parents, brothers, sister and nieces and nephews. What a great joy and a service of laughter and profound dignity as well. Second service was similar, no Baptism but the preparation of a young fourteen year old who will be Baptised in a months time. He is so keen to find faith and grow, he laments at what a broken world we live in and that if we could just love better, like Jesus teaches us to, then things would be better. I hope he never loses that faith, but rather that it is deepened in time and he sees that the broken world we live in needs the love we can reflect back from Jesus into the world, bringing light, hope and peace, reconciliation and healing. Home for a nap, then cooked dinner. Did feedback form of our visit to see our little girl yesterday. Getting ready for the week to come and trying to focus on the essentials.

Yesterday really. Due to a couple of bus drivers quitting (or falling out with themselves!) we are short of drivers. I agreed to do the night shift in the week for a few weeks! So starting at 12:15 and finishing about 4:45.

Not many hours but not an ideal shift - have to leave home by 23:30 and get home around 5:15 ish (the home time depends on exactly when I finish of course!).

However, he pays a ‘prime’ for antisocial hours that I’ll get each day which is handy as any over time is held back as I’ll get time off in lieu in the interseason!! The other bonus is that getting back early means it’s the perfect time to start walking up the

Also, at least I know my shifts so I can get into a routine for the weekdays and weekends I’ll be on earlies for transfers so I can finish in time to do the night shift the next day

Now to make an eating, sleeping and gym/skiing schedule! Just wish the gym opened earlier than 10am . With luck tho I’ll be able to plan better and start feeling more like doing stuff (lack of decent sleep and proper meals is not ideal!!)

Downside is that we have to do different days off now, as in on week one day and the next two days. So I’m not going to make the bike show this week, but might do a sneaky 36 hour trip to the uk for my Mum’s 80th next week

Yeah I'm a Liverpool fan, but care very little about the game these days. I get the impression they got what they deserved for the team they put out there.

Tried to buy a pair of dog's danglies, stainless steel, dissection type scissors. What a palaver. No, I'm not a surgeon, vet, student, academic institution. No, I don't have an account and no, I'm not VAT registered. I just want to buy a pair v good quality 13cm, straight, sharp/blunt ended scissors.

Anyone's guess if I'll end up with them.

(There's a reason. We have a very good set of dissection kit but it's ~50 years old and, although everything else is in tip top condition (artery clamps? Check. ) I've pretty much worn the above out - they're very useful things. When you're used to using quality kit, the stuff available generally is depressingly poor. The reason we have such a set? One of us used to have to dissect a lot of smallish, slightly radioactive, rodents as part of the job. ).

Just remembered my other odd bit of toolkit that I heartily recommend. I have an emergency dental kit (from when my hollibobs took me to places where dentists might be hard to get to).

Never used it on teeth but the implements are really useful for cleaning fine threads, hooking fiddly bits out of confined spaces etc etc. Cheaps as chips on Amazon too so I've never felt precious about using them for other stuff. Wouldn't want to go near my teeth with them now though.

Put a new plate on the car.

Which already had a private reg.

What a ball ache.

1. Put current reg on retention
2. Put original reg plates back on car
3. Inform insurance (£20 admin fee)
4. Order plate for new reg using retention cert for new reg
5. Wait for a new v5 with the original registration to arrive along with the new plates
6. Use new v5 and cert to apply new reg to car
7. Put new plates on car
8. Update insurance

Between Friday and today my car has had three different registrations.

Theres no way to swap from one private registration to another without going back to the original DVLA issued registration first.

Next I have to decide which bike I'm putting the other reg on. It was originally my dad's that he had on his Thunderbird Sport, but he was always a BSA man, so I might put it on the Gold Star.
