Same for me. Bought a 1.8i Xantia and it was certainly one of the most comfortable cars i've ever driven. Took it to Spain and back doing big miles in a day and none of the family complained about being uncomfrtable.

In 1981 I decided I was going to ride through France and Spain on my way to Portugal. On my less than one year old 350LC. On the way back it holed a piston in Hicksville, central Spain; there was only one phone in the whole village.

I wound up being transported back to Santander (where I was due to catch the ferry back to Portsmouth) with the LC in the back in one of those Citroen 2CV vans that look like a corrugated garden shed. The driver used some fairly sketchy B roads and on one of them I could see us approaching this massive fault line in the road. I braced myself for the impact but the 2CV van just went 'ba-doomp' and carried serenely on its way.

I've had major respect for Citroen suspension ever since that day.

I almost bought a CM but when i went to test drive it the suspension would not rise. Back then i knew nothing about air suspension so gave it a wide berth. Shame is it was a nice looking plush car.

I had a CX 'Croisette' - one of the last ones they made before the XM came along. I think the CX replaced the DS. Strange/eccentric in a number of ways. Looked like a biggish luxe saloon, but tiny boot, not particularly roomy or well appointed inside, long bonnet but with a transverse engine. The self-centreing steering was interesting and felt very odd for a few days. Underpowered.

Not easy finding mechanics that were up to speed with the foibles of it either - even the local Citroen dealer wasn't very confidence inspiring for servicing (but was expensive).

An empty cardboard box. Originally contained 200 gloves.

At a rough rate of one pair per patient, that's 100 patients seen since June 2022.

No, it's not a fluffy steering wheel. Well, it is, but ... The posts details:

This car has been back and forth to service on a bungee cord, the most recent visit ending with the dealer pronouncing it as “fixed”…..

Yeah, my Dad raced things like that, including World Champs and Olympics. (Can't remember off hand which years and classes)

That photo was at London Corinthian SC i think

I was out on Mr.Orange yesterday and Mr.Blue the previous day. I looked at the trip on both bikes and this was how it was sitting.

Depends. Did you do exactly the same journey on both? ;)

BTW I love that branding :D "Nippon" of course being the native word for Japan, so it says "Japan Seiki Japan".

Two different journeys. I keep an eye on the trips because they are my fuel gauge, otherwise I may not have noticed. The way the tenths are matched perfectly also added to the spice. :D

Classic sign of a driver that likes snacking at the wheel and touching surfaces with their grubby mitts.
