Don't do bacon with our pork.
We mostly slow cook it in apple juice.
The taste is very much better than most commercial pork.

I would imagine! I'm hoping to do a deal with some friends to get a pig (dead, from a farmer/butcher and share it between us!! LOL)

We've always ended up feeding a fair bit of chocolate to the pigs.
Certainly doesn't seem to do any harm.

I presume you never stuck to your GF diet then. A lot of the cereals, pastas, biscuits are either bland or leave an after taste. 90% of the breads are shit also.

Nah it didn't/doesn't seem to have been the cause, i did 6 weeks. At various places these days we get cake, which sometimes is GF and is without fail absolutely poor/average... i'm yet to have one that i'd like/approve of.

Home made is about the best i have had. Found two book called How to make and how to bake anything gluten free buy a Becky Excell. The only think so far that we found to be a fail was Yorkshire puddings so just get them out Tesco ready to chuck in the oven. The baking recipes are really nice with the Sticky toffee pudding getting the top vote from my family who could not taste the difference.

It was my turn to provide desserts for Christmas dinner, my take on a Jaffa cake torte and a Malteaser based cheesecake. Time ran away with us (me, daughters and partners) whilst enjoying the main event so we all had a small slice of what we fancied and my daughters asked if they could take the leftovers (the majority) to their mother’s for all to enjoy which I had no problem with…

…until I received a sarcastic Merry Christmas text from their mother / my ex wife asking if I would ever remember she was a vegetarian?

It appears every time the girls brought anything I’d baked to her house, it was never suitable for her as I’d either used gelatine or some other non-vegetarian ingredient

It has genuinely been an oversight on my part, unlike all those times the kids were given red bull and smarties an hour before they went back to hers whilst growing up…

Bloody typical that when I turn up you weren't there. Anybody might think you were trying to avoid meeting Clan Gremlin.

I'd say we'll try to arrange something next time we come for dinner at the restaurant, but I've already sold one kidney on eBay to fund that visit and I really do need to keep the other one.


Here's a challenge: bet you couldn't poncify a London Cheesecake and elevate it to fine dining levels.
