He was banned for 7 days. I let him back on after 5 but don't know whether he knows that or not

This is somewhat true... but as they're playing within the rules that's not worthy of a ban. He could walk away at any time, but he chooses to throw out the personal insults.. Which results in a ban. I don't administer the rules unfairly here, if people throw out insults they get a warning, then a 24 hour, then 3 days, then it goes up and up.. I'm not sure what else i can do.

From the sidelines it was fairly obvious that he took some helpful advice completely the wrong way, which was probably because he often  is goaded.

Yeah - I've met him a few times, albeit some years ago now, so more than anything, I'm a touch concerned about his posting style on here.

Lot of truth in the saying "it's not what you say that I remember you for, it's how you made me feel" A little soft, I know, but if your posts just annoy and wind people up they're not going to listen or engage. You're synonymous with causing irritation and anger, not dialogue. (Is that the right description?)

Neither was I, in case you’re wondering. Just suggested he re-read the OP, which had explained what was needed.

Yep, emotive response plays a much larger part on our memories than we think.

Lets not turn this into a witch hunt hey, the question is answered and we don't need to get into details.
