Changed the gearbox oil today, washed the inside of the fairing panels and put it all back together with shiny new stainless fasteners.

The faux carbon home made tank pad doesn't too too terrible.



From now on it's all just polishing, It'll be getting insured when the other bikes are due on the 19th and then it might get taxed in January.

Bike is looking decent. That Carbon coverup is a good choice and works well enough. Go lighter faster carbon too right!

It looks better in the pics than real life, although the paint work on the plastics is quite good for 22 years.

I need to do some miles and make sure it's properly mechanically sound before I spend any more money making it prettier.
I've managed to get the seat in to the highest position, they certainly don't make it easy on these, but the extra 2 inches makes a noticeable difference, at least in the garage anyway, looks a bit odd tho'

I'd still like the foot pegs and bar raisers from the GT version to be proper comfortable.

Work broke up for Christmas at 1pm today.

By 1:30 I was home and at 1:45 the BRB was taxed and out of the garage.

Spent about 90mins in the saddle...



Well the roads were wet and it was mainly a shake down after having it in bits.

It rides a lot better without the rear calliper dragging

At low revs there's a lot of vibration, I suspect it's maybe the TB's a bit out of balance.

It revs very very fast and with out any effort, found myself almost in the limiter a few times.

at 80mph it feels like you could get off and run faster, fairing keeps the cold off well and there's absolutely no fuss about anything.

Seat is well comfy, on the higher position I could probably do a few hours before the legs need a rest.

Bars could do with being a smidge higher, need to be doing 50ish to take the weight of my wrists.

The screen is useless in the higher position, it stops the wind taking the load off your wrists and defects all the wind at your helmet.

I actually quite like it.

at lower speeds the front brake feels a bit warped, it didn't on the original ride home, but I have had the wheel out and one of the discs off. I'll give it a good check over crimbo.

I will be much happier when I don't have to took at the bars to indicate/cancel.

You've not got the disc seated properly - first rule of home mechanics "what've I broken?"

That's what I'm thinking.

It's quite a mild pulse and you only feel it coming to a complete stop, I'll whip the disc off and make sure the mounting flats on the wheel are free from debris.

The guy who used to service my bikes (including Ks) always set them optimum for mid-throttle position.

Strapped the panniers on and the Big Red Bus became the Big Red Sleigh, delivering Crimbo presents this morning.

I must be getting more RS shaped because it felt comfortable today, even at lower speeds. It tipped it down on the way home and I didn't get wet, the fairing works really well... and I put the screen up.

There is one slight odd thing. I can feel everything through the soles of my feet. There's little feed back through the grips and none through the seat. I can feel the quality of the tarmac through the pegs, it's quite an odd sensation. I guess normally you'd not notice because you'd be getting that feedback from the bars too... I guess it must be a telelever thing?

The cheap Maxxis tyres on it feel much better than I hoped, even on the salty and then wet roads.

I'm still struggling with those frickin' indicators!
