Just got messaged to say not to bother as they’ve reviewed it and decided it’s non cancerous which is a relief. I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.

She’ll still be in till tomorrow at least so it’s a microwave Christmas dinner for me. Unless one of my kids invites me over.

But you know….I don’t care.
Hope all goes well and you get your, slightly late, Christmas together, at home.

Having been in a similar situation a couple of times the lack of sleep is no surprise. :(

I know enough about sepsis symptoms to go "GET IN THE :angry-cussingblack: CAR!" So off we went to A&E for a horse tranquilizer sized shot of antibiotics etc etc etc).

Here it's close Christmas day then January 6th for Three Kings, that's when the Spanish do Christmas presents.

Re bus driving, does that mean you passed the course you were on?

Congrats on the boyfriend. 😍

Bought a couple of tickets for tonight's $1Billion lottery jackpot (paid over 30 years).

Which works out to $448M if you take the cash option... and $282,785,812 after taxes.

I think I could scrape by...

If one were to take the cash option & invest $250M at a modest 5% ROI you'd end up at$1.35Billion over the 30 years. Which would beat the lottery investment pay outs:
$631,254,370 spread over 30 years (after taxes), Vs $852,919,396 (after taxes)

Noggin wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 2:59 pm Today I left home just after midnight to drive to the depot to go to work. It was snowing all day yesterday and still when I left and I wanted to make sure the baby Fiat roller skate would get me there on time!! I got there in longer than usual, but with time for a coffee before getting the Sprinter out! As the job was two staff transfers from Courchevel down to Brides les Bain with a couple of weird stops on the way, I was a bit nervous but, whilst I got the wheels spinning a couple of times and had a little slide (whilst empty) the relief at not having to put chains on was immense (I really must learn how to do that on the Sprinters!!)

Finished at about 7am, then had a chat with, well, with my 'boyfriend' !!! Sadly, not a good Christmas for him. He doesn't really like Christmas much and the weekend hasn't helped. A friend of his died over the weekend, not the first time he's had bad news at Christmas. And it's put the kybosh on us meeting up for a night out at the end of the week. So I'm heading to Chambéry on Thursday morning to have a coffee and proper chat with him. Not exactly to cheer him up, but hopefully it'll help a bit. And we can plan another evening out! It's all a bit of a challenge as he basically works 7 days a week and we both drive at weekends (different companies) so having Friday off we were both quite keen to meet up. It's not really long distance, but sometimes it feels like it!! :(

So, then I thought - right, I can go to the Skoda dealer and finally get to chat with them about the car I want. Checked their opening hours and all's good, but got there and, yup - closed for Christmas Eve!! I always forget that France closes Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and reopens for Boxing Day!!

Came home and slept to catch up - I don't sleep well before a stupid o'clock start :( Just made some gingerbread mix ready to bake, going to do a couple of things after I catch up here and then get some more sleep before doing the same work shift as last night!! If I can get enough sleep today, I should have the oomf to go skiing tomorrow morning :D :D :bblonde:

Snow's awesome and the sun is out for the week :D :D
Looks like it will a little avalanchy!

Thank you. He's French/Spanish so I will be getting more messages 6th Jan I guess!! Interesting one today, he's a bit religious - although not in a "you have to be religious as well" way! But the Christmas message was very baby Jesus - I've resisted the temptation to send a meme of the Baby Cheeses to him - not sure his English will get a play on words!!

Lots of canons going off over the last couple of days. But, with the horrible work shifts I've had, I'm not risking skiing - only half a brain at best and very tired!! Friday for me :D :D

Ours aren't winner take all, there are thousands of other prize amounts. 640,448 just in California:

Matching Numbers Winning Tickets Prize Amounts
5 + Mega 0 $1,000,000,000
5 1 $1,774,447
4 + Mega 12 $13,770
4 388 $479
3 + Mega 1,016 $208
3 25,180 $10
2 + Mega 22,143 $10
1 + Mega 171,169 $4
Mega 420,539 $2
Total Winning Tickets 640,448

Across the entire US there were about 3 million winners:

Got in the sea.

We were at Whitesands near St David's, the boy says "I bet you wouldn't get in" to which my reply of course was "yeah right, I will if you do"

Neither of us backed down, so it was down to underpants on the beach and then in the sea. It was, shall we say, just a bit bloody cold..

Today I have delivered some dinners, taken a Christmas tree down, run the Shark vacuum around and then, as a final and unprompted act of sheer Devil-may-care, I cleaned the vacuum filters.

Just no stopping my antics. 8-)

Just said goodbye to daughter and s-i-l. Bugger me, but daughter, who is ace at travelling all over the world with just hand baggage, really makes up for it when travelling by car. She drives a hatchback, a pantechnicon would be more suitable.
All now very quiet on the CJ front

Just finishing cooking a piece of ham using the new Meater SE I received yesterday as a gift from the daughters. It is an improved wirefree meat probe from the previous Inkbird, the app is a bit more intuitive as it includes resting time which the inkbird app doesn’t.

It did seen a touch alien taking the ham out of the oven 10°C below finishing temperature but the internal temp has steadily risen to just over target temp

Next step will be smoking a chicken in the Ninja Woodfire to see how that turns out. :)

We've had a Meater for about a year - it's taken about 10 months for my wife to believe what it says and not do it her way!
