Sat down with my boss to have my salary review.
At least he had to good grace to look suitably embarrassed when gave me the numbers....

A mate ran out of petrol and Mrs.Skub was away in the car,so I had to use a bike on salty roads. The horror.

Rotated the tyres on the car, using hand tools. Didn't seem like a big job, but I'm knackered now.

The car manual tells you to do it every 6,000 miles.
First car I've had in ages that doesn't have staggered wheels.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I used my tachocard for the first time - not driving a coach but a Mercedes Sprinter. fairly big, but not the massive luxe one I've been told I'm driving this weekend !! It really was just like a big minibus (cos there's no overhang at the back on this one, well hardly anything, the luxe has a 2m overhang after the rear axle!! Called a Porte a faux here, no idea what it's called in English, so 'overhang' will have to do!). Not so keen on driving it in the dark mind you. And it's wildly under powered, but hopefully I'll mostly be driving the bigger ones from after Christmas
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!!

Played with my new pressure washer for 5 mins then gave up as it’s too cold and I can’t be arsed faffing about with hose lock connectors and ancient hoses that won’t do what they are told.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Walked the dog this morning. Then celebrated the Holy Communion service at my church, followed by decorating the tree and church for Christmas. Home to spend time with dog, then collected wife and daughter from station. Off to visit a family whose daughter was dying 4 weeks ago, she is now happily at home and recovering well. Then visited an older couple who can no longer get into church as it is too difficult for them to manage. So church comes to them. Cooked dinner at home for the family and now having a read of forums!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Paid my outstanding tax to HMRC.
15p.
I suspect they wouldn't have chased me for it, but I like to be an upstanding citizen.
(Screen shot the receipt email and sent it to my dodgy builder mate who's currently forking out c. £22k to the tax man. His reply was slightly less than friendly )

Re: What have you done today thread?
I made something like £503 in interest on "normal" savings last year, meaning I had to pay tax on £3 of savings interest, which comes to something like 60p.
I still declared it and paid it though
People asked me why I bother, but as I heard a legal person say once "the only thing better than doing the correct thing is having a paper trail of doing the correct thing".

Re: What have you done today thread?
Gremlinette wants a locket for Christmas, so we've been looking online and found one. They offered free engraving of text or, surprisingly, doodles.
Now, the Gremlinette has a habit with drawing childish 'cock and balls' on anything left laying around. I found one on the label of a jar of chutney in the fridge the other day. So, what better doodle to add to the locket..?
Order placed.
Email received today: Dear Mrs. G, We are unable to to engrave the doodle due to the nature of it.....
Spoilsports.

Find someone with a CO2 laser, they can use thermal paste (thermark) to etch on to most metals

Re: What have you done today thread?
Or borrow a virbo etch pen from somewhere (I'm sure there are loads lying around in banks ) and doodle one onto the locket yourself.
