IACGMOOH 2024

Post by Yorick »

Surprised no mention so far.

When it started I only knew 4 and liked them all

Alan Halsal -Corrie
Barry McGuigan- hero
Jane Moore-totty in my yoof
Collete Rooney- Always stayed down to earth

On first show a few prima donnas, but now I actually like them all

I've watched about 80% of them over the years. This one is probably the most interesting.

IMHO like Big Brother, it's time has gone, I watched the first series but it held no interest after that, a bunch of z list celebs squealing over the thought of eating kangaroo dick soon wears thin.

I did hear on the radio this morning that the Reverend Richard Coles is going on it, which would almost make it worth watching as he's an interesting chap, but still I'll pass.

McGuigan is a twat IRL. Tried shafting Carl Frampton for millions.

I have no clue who the other boy from NI is, but he's an utter wab.

Just found out from the wife that Richard was the Sax player in Bronski Beat. Oh how i could not stand Jimmy Somerville.

It's getting a bit samey now, but we do watch. My faves are Ant n Dec and Mrs Rooney. As every year, folk vote for the screamers. At 9pm last night it didn't have much competition.

We'll have a film on tonight. 👍

Watched one early series, perhaps the first. Since then it is same old shit, with even less well-known 'celebs'. Haven't seen any of this one, and unlikely to.

Communards and keyboard.

But apparently a multi-instrumentalist.

BB/IAC/whatever the flavour of the month is.
Never watched a single episode, ever.
Doesn't anyone else think that it's a form of bullying, forcing someone to do something disgusting, although pretty sure for Mrs Rooney nothing will be an issue!
For most of the IAC crew it seems a tax bill is the biggest incentive to appear.

The modern day version of paying to watch the inmates in a lunatic asylum. At least these inconsequentials are volunteers.

The real bullying seems to behind the scenes in a entertainment industry.

As usual, I watched the opening show to see how many I recognised - I got pretty much the same 'score' as Yorick - but none of them particularly interest me.

I'd agree that once you get into it the dynamic of who is the biggest arsehole is probably the best thing about it. The challenges became a bit old hat yonks ago but then as I don't really watch it I dunno how often the producers up the ante or are deliberately provocative, you'd think they'd have to.

Watched every years show from day 1. Well i say watched it, more accurate would be to say its on and i watch bits of it. It used to be funny when they were all arguing, but now its one big happy team looking after each other which is boring. The only good thing is any sign of weakness is seized upon by the public and the offender is repeatedly voted for. :D

I'd be a liar if I didnt admit to enjoying some bits of it, but in the main its just got so repetitive and i think it had run its course about 5 years ago.

My wife works in a school where such reality shows are the daily topic of conversation with the girlies, so trust me when i say you're lucky you've not been subjected to married at first sight. :wtf:

I caught some of this year's Big Brother, seems like the same deal - the arguments they have are trivial, they're all too savvy to do anything truly interesting, most of them seemed to have come in having prepared a 'personality' to try and engage the audience with. Once you understand that, it becomes a bit pointless, engineered drama portrayed as reality.

On the subject of weird gameshows - as we were trawling the channels last night, my missus landed on Ru Paul's Drag Race. :o They were all taking it VERY seriously. :D

Only if we're daft enough to actually watch it.
