The film 'Kes' is 55 years old. I remember watching it as part of my O Level English (I think I recall...very hazy now). Not a bad film, but a bit bleak:

I think I prefer the Shooting Stars version...

It's not exactly news, but I read this today. So it's news to me and it's today.

The Bronx is the size of Paris, has 42 McDonalds.....and one bookshop.

Hmmm, maybe we need a 'little known facts' thread. :D

Paris pop. 2.10 million
Bronx pop. 1.44 million

*chews pencil*

Paris 36.2 McDs/million
Bronx 29.1 McDs/million

I find that strangely depressing. (But will cheer myself up thinking about bookshops in Paris. ).

Less surprisingly, London has 181 but with a pop. figure of 8.86 million that's only 20 McDs/million.

LOL, there's only 6 in the whole county I live in, although we only number 603,000 souls.
1 McDonald's per 100,000, that's gonna be one heck of a breakfast rush, I'd best make sure I'm early doors tomorrow

I'm thinking that Paris has way more tourists than the Bronx.
