Deffo a cheap and easy way into it and should be easy for him on warranty side of things too.... I'm not seeing a downside.

Sorry I missed this.
I’m paying about that for a brand new Trek 8 mate ( with the tax breaks)
Plus the large, not XL is the right fit. Thanks anyway
