good base north of Inverness?

Post by Bustaspoke »

Planning next years holidays & my mates have decided we're going back to Scotland for a week for our annual tour in May.
I'm still planning on France for my summer jaunt.Anyways, what's recommended for Scotland norht of Inverness? We're thinking Lairg but none of us have been there,we really like Crieff & plan on stopping there again on the way up, but we want to base ourselves more north so that we can explore the north & north west for a few days.
We need a good B&B or Hotel with off road parking if anyone knows anywhere specific.

Only hotel I've stopped in. Not quite where you want but ticks the boxes quite well.

We’ve stopped here a couple of times

They have a garage for the bikes (not that it’s needed up there).

This place is nice, but expensive. Closed now until April.

This place is nice but eye-wateringly expensive. They have a pub/bunkhouse next door.

This place is in a super location but gets very mixed reviews. Stayed once, several years ago, and was not impressed.

Being a Jock i have never properly explored North of Inverness. My bad. Did the coast once in the 80's but kipping in the car. Applecross but just overnight to drive over Bealach na Bà. Kipped in a campsite.

What about the wooden pods with showers and pub close by. Some more luxurious than others mind. 🤷🏻‍♂️
