Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
For me, my race-results nowadays are more satisfying than ever! I am far slower on my bicycle compared to 20+ years ago for the two major reasons of increasing age = slower recovery , plus my injuries from 2012. But it means that even an improvement of 2 seconds over 10 to 18 miles, is important to me and pleasing! The improvements achieved in my past of 2-6 minutes for a personal best are gone it appears? Doesn't stop me trying and every time I set a new PB for myself post-2012 I always tell myself that it was not too bad for a dead-man! Which is what my super-consultant expected after I head-butted the road at 30-35mph [ according to my medical records! He is now one of my biggest fans! I must count as one of his successes no doubt !Thanks Gerry O' Reilly, consultant neurosurgeon! 10/10... Not that Gerry comes on this site as far as I know but you get my drift?!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Was that Globelink news?
There was a documentary series about it:
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0098781/
(journalism) A news item of no real significance, usually of whimsical or sentimental nature, placed at the end of a news bulletin or in a newspaper as filler. A dead donkey can often be removed from the programme or publication if a more significant story needs extra time or space.

It was good. I've heard it said* that it was watched by journalists as Yes Minister was watched by politicians, that it was considered almost a documentary.

That nothing of note has walked on the wet concrete overnight. There's a good start to the day. And said concrete is hard enough for me to have access to the shed again.

They were for keeping stuff dry and off the ground. anything from hay ricks to sheds. Nothing fancy at all, until people started using them as garden ornamentsHarry wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 9:06 amWhat's the story behind saddle stones?chillitt wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 8:43 am Years ago my Dad while elderly and a easily lead, swapped a load of Staddle stones for blue plastic water butts as he was mad keen on gardening. Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
And ruin my reputation as a grumpy old git?
Oh, go on then.
A month or so ago I sent some money though my bank to my wife in China. There were two separate problems that needed my attention so each time they left a secure message in my account on their website. Each time it took me a couple of days before I logged in and saw the messages. Understandably, I was rather annoyed since they have three ways of contacting me (email, landline and mobile) and they already use one of them, email, to let me know when I have a new statement. So I complained, asking why they couldn't send an email or text or something telling me I had a new message like they do when I have a new statement.
Roll on to last week. I had to send some more money. When they put a message in my account telling me they'd sent the money they also sent me an email. Result.

Just joined a FB group called "Extreme Dishwasher Loading". So excited! I was hooked as soon as I saw the post "Wooden spoons, yes or no?".
Well? I do.

I mean no. I would never put a wooden spoon in the dishwasher. I'm not crazy.weeksy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 1:50 pmUntil this post you were actually winning the "who are we likely to give a free trackday to"Trinity765 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 1:48 pm Just joined a FB group called "Extreme Dishwasher Loading".
