A mate's GS 750 snapped it's chain (he'd over-tightened it). Took out the plastic chain guard, sheared through the clutch pushrod and cracked open the front sprocket cover.

I think I'm lucky, I've had two chains snap, on an R6 and a Fireblade, both shot straight out the back, no damage done.
I don't buy DID chains anymore.

The one time my chain snapped I only realised what was happening when said chain overtook me.
