It was Saturday but I helped my son move some stuff into his flat. He brought home a truck from work to move the stuff with so I spent the day talking like an Irish traveller everytime we got out of it!

I wasn't best pleased getting out of the passenger door of a vehicle with abnormal load written on it!

800m again, then another 400m after 2 mins break. Super chuffed as better than 20 years ago.Yorick wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 1:09 pmManaged 800m in 25 minutes today
Then did another 200m after short rest.
Fantastic for getting arms fit for track
All this enduro riding gives you strong arms.
I see many slob tourists in town, half my age, who could barely walk 1200m let alone swim it

Re: What have you done today thread?
Colleague comes in this morning with his hand bandaged. Had to have 14 stitches in his little finger yesterday and was moaning about how he has to go back every other day to get the dressing changed.
He asked me if, in my capacity as a first aider, I could do it. 'Not really', I replied, 'I could, but it's best if the hospital do it for so many reasons...plus the last person I did first aid on died, so you may want to bear that in mind...'
'Yeah...good point. I'll go hospital'

TBF, if yr referring to the girl you tried to help, your first aid 100% wasn’t the reason !gremlin wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 9:24 am Colleague comes in this morning with his hand bandaged. Recovering
Woke up to sound of gentle splashing in pool.
Rushed outside to find dog in water panicking. Luckily he was on top of the thin cover so only partly submerged. Sort of treading water, walking about to try and get out.
He was totally soaked so had obviously gone under a few times.
Not sure how long he'd been in the water, but don't think he'd have lasted long just in the water.
He was exhausted and we just let him sleep for a few hours.
No lasting effects.
When we first moved in, he ran across the cover so we bought an alarm thingy for his collar. Never went near in last 8 years so we stopped seeing the need for it.
But he's 13 now and a bit dopey sometimes, so the alarm is going back on.
Was a helluva shock seeing his scared face.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I had my work and workflow reviewed by some professional people who know a lot more about things than I do. Nice people who were here for a couple of hours. They reviewed and advised and then we all had lunch. I dread these type of things, but it all went rather swimmingly and was very interesting too.
