Searching internet, it looks like mine is the only one to have this failure, in fact I haven't found reports of any Epocalypse frame failures bar mine. So hopefully it's a one off.

Still waiting………….. Evil Europe are being useless.

I did get a bargain on eBay, picked up one of those battery rucksacks @millemille likes for £75 on eBay, looks pretty much brand new.

Shop now have DHL number so front triangle is on its way, with my luck a baggage handler will drop it under the wheels of a 747!

Well is its back, with a non loose headset....yay! With a spare battery cover for my spare battery.

Not so good was a knock when I lifted it up at the rear and unloaded the suspension. Initially thought it was the coil shock needing some preload so did that but still knocking. Managed to stick my finger under the lower eye and lifted the bike and it felt like the eyelet bush had some play.

Off to LBS with my lower fitting kit as the shop said the eyelet bush should've been changed at the shock service. They pilfered a lower fitting assembly off a new bike, we measured it on their callipers and it was pretty much the same tolerances as mine. Shop gave me their new bike lower assy kit, bush tool and a new bush to try. Checked assembly kit at home with my callipers and same result as in shop. Drove out bush changed on service, looked absolutely brand new inside and fitted new bush and new assembly kit and viola knock gone. Bizarre. I'm guessing a range of tolerances add up with everything at the end of its tolerances scale to introduce the knock.

Pedals stripped and regreased, car bike carrier 3rd bike add-on fitted.

All the Evil stuff measured the same, I'm guessing the new rock shox eyelet bush was a smidge thicker as the knock disappeared.

I didn't compare them side by side as I have a ritual when doing things like this of keeping the removed part well separated from new part to avoid getting them mixed up. I've seen too many technicians sitting in a pile of cards wondering what were the duff ones and which one's were the one fresh out of the wrapper during bungled fault finding.

and the sorry saga continues.

LBS didn't setup the battery clamp properly, battery detached at speed, dug into the floor and the bike tried to eject me, battery cover trashed, battery looks second hand and new frame guard and motor cover guard are damaged.

I would now be slowly going tornado. The first in my path would be the LBS. The second would be the LBS, just to make sure.

Well to give shop owner his due, he fell on his sword, apologised profusely and has said everything that needs fixing will be done as it was their fault.

Sad part is, this is likely to sour the relationship on both sides, even if he does the right thing and you were polite about it.

Possibly. Consumer research shows that customers can be more impressed with how a company deals with a problem than they're put off by the actual problem. (If you only have one LBS that's probably the best outcome :D ).

TBF that is what i found a lot in the commercial world - if you can help with a solution when things get fubared - even if you were at fault, the on going relationship is much more honest and trusting

Well I dropped it off at LBS today, once again apologies and they've already got a lot of the parts needed. Also think they'll be giving me a new battery as well.
