It's mighty impressive but the reality is that in more than a few places we race you simply wouldn't get to/in. There's proper tight, nadgery roads which are ridiculous even in a Transit, let alone a monster like that. I do LOVE the idea of a great big MoHo but doing 25,000 a year and having those issues simply mean it wouldn't work. If all our races were world cups, then possibly it'd work.

I get that. We'd always intended to upgrade our campervan to a motorhome, but when touring about we find the campervan can be a pita for getting to some places and parking etc. Talking to people that have moved up, it seems that Motorhomes are great when parked up, but less so for getting there.

You can get a bag for life replaced with a brand new one in any store, no questions* asked. Can't do that with the old Trumpet there.

*"Whos head is this in the bag?"

In fairness, maybe my lack of appreciation for that 'classic' Triumph is tempered by the fact it's just shoved in front of a pile of shabby pallets with a cheap plastic banner nailed to them. The whole shebang then delicately framed by a wall made of motley bricks and blocks, and complimented by a mangey drainpipe.

And the less said about the random builder's bucket, the better. I bet just out of frame is a pile of white dog turd.

luxury car tax! I cop for that on my car the thieving bastards!

Under the Expensive Car Supplement, cars that cost over £40,000 when new pay an additional £410 annually for five years starting from the first VED car tax payment that’s made when the car is a year old. This means the total road tax for any car costing over £40,000 is £600, paid every year until the car is six years old. The £40,000 figure includes optional extras and is based on the manufacturer’s official list price of the car, not the price actually paid by the customer. The Expensive Car Supplement does not apply to new electric cars registered before April 1 2025 but after that date new EVs costing over £40,000 will be liable to pay the tax, as it stands.

That's what I'm in for tonight, a VW Touareg, OK so it's a 3L V6, but 600 knicker is taking the pee.

Would you take the motorhome or the cash alternative if faced with that decision? Best of luck to you anyway!

I'm going for camper and Alfa. Think I'd have the Alfa, but think harder about the camper. How much use sort of thinking. 🤔
